We lost not just a colleague, but a spark in our team — someone who made every meeting brighter, every idea bolder, and every moment more memorable. Since joining WoodMac in August 2023, Ishan has been a dear friend to many of us, including those in Gurugram where he was based. He was curious and passionate about his work, which culminated with his recent promotion.
Ishan lived and breathed WoodMac’s values and added his own twist: relentless positivity. Whether it was brainstorming bonding activities, kicking off deep discussions, or sharing hilarious personal stories to break the ice, he was always the one to get us talking, laughing, and thinking. He also lived up to our purpose to transform the way we power the planet and was a core member of our Sustainability Thrive group.
He had a gift for connecting people — no biases or barriers, just pure intent to learn and grow together. He was the glue in our group, the one who made sure no one was left out, whether it was a football match or a post-work hangout with a cold one in hand.
A proud PS5 gamer, he never backed down from a debate about which game deserved his time. He was the first to rally us for football, and the last to leave the field, keeping the energy alive week after week. And of course, he was a Coldplay superfan who wore his heart on his sleeve and his playlist on repeat. His passion was contagious, his presence unforgettable.
We’ll miss his ideas, his laughter, his drive to be better every single day. But most of all, we’ll miss him — our dear friend, Ishan.

Ishan and I joined Woodmac around the same time and soon became part of a close-knit group of colleagues who often spent time together.
I will always cherish the memories of our outings whether it was bowling, trying different foods at Cyber Hub, or simply spending time as a group, it was always filled with fun and laughter.
The last time I met Ishan was at Socials, and it turned out to be a truly wonderful evening something I will always hold dear. After congratulating him on his promotion, receiving the news of his passing was deeply shocking and difficult to believe.
Ishan had a cheerful presence, and I will always remember the joy, warmth, and light-hearted moments we shared.

Ishan, the gem of a person he was- kind, passionate and full of life!
Words are less and the memories are way too many!
I feel lucky to have made such a friend in such less time. He was one of the very few people I genuinely connected with. From going out every now and then, to planning trips that we could never go on, your absence is going to hurt me in all possible ways!

Ishan introduced me to his group when we were doing scavengers hunt. He was humble, smart and always enthusiastic lad. Whenever we see each other on the floor, we greet each other and always end up asking when we gona play in that box playground, but sadly we never did. He was the core team member of our sports committee and we were planning to have a cricket tournament for woodmac. It is heart breaking to see him go in such a young age. Heart felt condolences to the family and friends. I personally will never forget remembering Ishan whenever i be in office.

Even now, it’s hard to believe that Ishan is no longer with us. His steady presence and uplifting spirit were a constant in our lives.

It is still very difficult to accept the fact that we've lost Ishan. I will always remember Ishan as one of the most cheerful and positive people I’ve had the privilege to work with. He had a way of keeping the team together, making sure that work was not just about deadlines, but also about camaraderie and connection. He often took the initiative to bring everyone together after office hours, whether it was football or cricket on the turf, he made sure the team bonded beyond work.
I was amazed to see the passion he carried for the things he loved, especially Coldplay. The fact that he travelled from Delhi to Mumbai and then Mumbai to Ahmedabad just to attend their concert spoke volumes about how much joy he found in music and how wholeheartedly he embraced life.
Though I only met him a handful of times since we worked out of different offices, he left a lasting impression on me. To me, he will always remain a dear colleague, a dear friend, and above all, a truly great human being. His warmth, energy, and kindness will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

It's difficult to find the right words to honor a colleague and a friend who meant so much to us all. The news of Ishan's passing has left a profound sadness.

Even though we didn't work together, I was very lucky to briefly collaborate with Ishan on AI. Right from our first one-on-one call, his positive energy came through so clearly - it was impossible not to smile when talking with him! His enthusiasm was genuinely contagious, even through the screen. Ishan will be missed and fondly remembered.

I had the privilege of meeting Ishan earlier this year when I visited our India office. Though our time together was not extensive, he left a strong impression: warm, funny, and eager to help.
I have heard nothing but praise for Ishan's work and for the positive energy he brought to the team. His recent promotion spoke to his hard work, potential and trust earned from his team. I am deeply saddened by his passing and will remember my brief time spent with him with gratitude and respect.

Ishan was a wonderful colleague and a joy to work with. I express my deepest condolences to his family and friends for the loss of such a kind and bright young man gone too soon. Words cannot express how much he will be missed amongst our team. Despite being based across the world in London I worked very closely with Ishan, especially over this past year. We caught up most days and he was always enthusiastic to get involved, help support the team, and suggest new ideas. I often left our calls in a better mood as he told me about his loving family life, holiday adventures, or joked how he would be staying up late to play video games. I was so pleased when he called to tell me his good news on the well deserved promotion a few short weeks ago. Ishan was a dear friend as well as a colleague. I hope with time those who loved him can celebrate his memories and incredible life.

We will not say goodbye. Instead, we will open the windows he urged us to open, plant the saplings he set aside for us, and greet one another with the same open curiosity he radiated every day. In doing so, we keep Ishan present—an enduring pulse beneath every sustainable choice we make, every hand we extend, every smile we freely give.

I will always remember our last conversation we had at my desk, it was about the social committee, something he was always so passionate about. He was my go-to person for social activities, his ideas, creativity, and commitment made a tremendous impact when we initiated it last year, and his efforts brought so much joy to our workplace. I can only echo everyone's message about how shocked and saddened we are to have lost Ishan. He was a great friend and wonderful colleague to many of us.
Personally, I will remember that he was passionate in every thing he did. He loved his job and always received great feedback on how committed he was. He was also always telling me about the bond that united France and India around his hometown of Chandigarh.

I am deeply shocked and sad to hear of Ishan’s passing. It is hard to put into words the loss we feel. I was deeply saddened when I heard that he is no longer with us. Ishan and I joined WoodMac together on 1 August 2023. I still remember the very first time we met at the entry gate of WeWork building. He walked up to me and asked if I knew where the WoodMac office was, since it was his first day. I smiled and told him it was mine too. We walked in together, completed our onboarding side by side, and later discovered we would be working in the same team. While working with him, I came to know Ishan as deeply curious, passionate, and committed not only to making an impact at work but also to leaving a mark outside of it. Rest in peace, Ishan. You will be missed.

I remember interacting with Ishan first time very quickly after he joined. Since the time he has been such a good friend and as mentioned, he has been the center point to unite people whether it was for sports or post work hangouts. We have been out couple of times after office and he was a great dancer who would not let you sit down even for a break while the music is on! I will miss the lunches, outings with him or even his quick smile while passing in the bay on those busy days. I am sure everyone who knew him, spoke to him for work or outside work has very distinct memory of conversations with him. This speaks a lot about his great personality and how he is deeply missed. Everytime I will see the seat/bay he used to mostly sit in, I will remember him... I hope he is out there watching our love for him and may his soul rest in peace.

Like everyone at WoodMac I was so stunned and saddened by the news of Ishan's passing. He was so passionate in our sustainability journey and volunteered so willingly to lead our sustainability efforts in India. It was great to see that passion. I know the Gurugram team will honour his legacy by continuing the initiatives.
