Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Darlyn Gutierrez. Diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in December 2017, Darlyn faced numerous relapses with incredible resilience and strength. She is survived by her husband, Gibo, and their three children: Brielle (16), Eilish (14), and Adam (10).
Darlyn joined Wood Mackenzie in February 2008 as a client trainer. Over her 17-year career, she held multiple roles within the Customer Organisation, culminating in her role as Principal Product Specialist. She will be fondly remembered for her radiant presence and her natural talent as a charismatic MC at our Singapore summits.
Darlyn was cheeky, smart, funny, resourceful, resilient, hardworking, and above all, deeply kind. Guided by her strong Christian faith, Darlyn strived every day to live with purpose and goodness. Her warmth and vibrant spirit left a permanent mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
A cornerstone of every community she touched - whether a work team, church group, or friendship circle – Darlyn made a lasting impression on all who cross her path. Throughout her illness and up to her final days, she found immense comfort and strength in the unwavering support of her colleagues at Wood Mackenzie. She often expressed that the words “thank you” could never fully capture her deep gratitude.
At this time, please follow by Darlyn’s example and be kind to yourself and others. Please take the time to digest this sad news and reach out if you need support.
Darlyn’s legacy of kindness, courage, and positivity will continue to inspire us all. She will be deeply missed.
