Adepeju Adebote

A Life of Service, Friendship, and Impact
The loss of Rotarian Adepeju Adebote is one that words cannot fully capture. She was more than a fellow Rotarian; she was a friend, a sister, and someone who truly cared about people. Her presence in the Rotary Club of Omole-Golden was felt in countless ways—through her dedication, her warmth, and her ability to bring people together.
Peju was the kind of person who made an effort. She checked in on people, encouraged them, and had a way of making others feel valued. She was full of life and brought energy into every room she walked into. Whether it was through a simple compliment, a thoughtful gesture, or her active role in Rotary, she made an impact.
She was also a devoted wife and a loving mother—two roles she cherished deeply. Even while facing her own battles, she stayed strong for those around her. She never let challenges take away her kindness or her commitment to the people and causes she cared about.
Her friends remember her for her sense of humor, her genuine support, and the way she looked out for others. She was reliable, approachable, and always had a way of making people feel at home. She fought hard, lived well, and gave her best to life.
We take comfort in the memories we shared and the lives she touched. Though she is no longer with us, the impact she made will never fade.
Rest in peace, Peju. You will always be remembered.
Memory wall
You just gave us a great show, a wonderful performance and a
master-class on how to leave an indelible mark behind.
I bet that a lot of us will be compelled to study your playbook.
Ano mi, thank you for everything.
Remi Osijo
Since your demise, all that kept ringing in my head is the way you call me “KEKERE”. The way you make me smile with every word you say to me. The way you show me your make up application after I urge you to start using them again.
Your departure is more painful to me because I didn’t get to see you during your last days.
I secretly took some of your pictures at our party in December, hoping to show them to you someday, hmmmm I guess the day will never come now that you are now more. Death snatched you away from us.
I believe you are in a better place now. You are in a place free of pain, struggle and sorrow.
Aunty Peju, you will be greatly missed.
Rest in peace 😭😭

My solace is that you lived a life of purpose, you gave your best.
Rest on daughter of Zion. Rest on beautiful soul.
PJ, You will be greatly missed.

I remember when you told me you weren’t sure you would be available to serve as the Polio Chair this Rotary year, yet you pushed ahead and did it so well. Or how I co-opted you into the SAA/Treasury team so you could bring your expertise on board to help improve our SAA collections. You took everything you did with such dedication and grace.
I can’t forget how you tried so hard to help me get into your line of business, you went to several locations, kept sharing options with me, and even when I wasn’t as serious about it, you took it upon yourself to ensure I succeeded at it, sadly I did not take it that seriously. You were selfless like that.
And then there was the special bond you shared with my sister, Iya Ewe. You made her feel so welcome after she joined Rotary, and I remember how you both traveled together from Abeokuta to Lagos after a District Conference. I'm grateful that she found more than just a friend in you; she found a sister and family.
You also connected my family with your caterer, Bolad, who has now been with us for years, playing a key role in major celebrations in our lives. That’s who you were, always bringing people together, always adding value to the lives around you.
It’s heartbreaking that all I have left of you now are memories, but I’m grateful that they are all beautiful ones.
I was in church when I got the news of your passing, but it didn’t really hit me until the next day when I saw a video collage of you posted on our platform. I was driving to drop my kids off at school when I saw it, and it brought me to tears, I hadn’t cried like that in a very long time.
But in all of this, I am mostly thankful that I got to see you and interact with you just eight days before you left this world. If not, I know the pain would have been even greater.
Sister Peju, you will be deeply missed, but your memory will live on in my heart.
Rest on, till we meet to part no more.
Jide Ogunleye

You will be greatly missed and the little time spent with you, those memories will forever stay with me. Rest in peace my dearest sister.

A Tribute to Rtn Adepeju Adeboye a dear friend and Sister
It is hard to put into words what your friendship meant to me. You were more than a friend—you were a vibrant force of nature, your energy, your warmth, and your infectious spirit made every moment brighter.
As we planned my 60th birthday, you poured your heart into every detail, giving your time, effort, and unwavering support. You brought joy to the preparations and made sure the day was nothing short of perfect. Your contributions were not just about the event—they were a reflection of the incredible person you were: always giving, always lifting others up.
Your kindness, your moral contributions, your unwavering support, and the love you shared made that milestone even more special.
Being together in the Rotary Club of Omole Golden was another blessing. You were one of my favorites, a true joy to be around. Your lively presence, your laughter, and your passion for service left a lasting impact on all of us. The Rotary family will never forget the memories you left behind, HA!!! ikú ó ṣe rẹ oo
Now, as l remember you, my heart is heavy with loss but full of gratitude. You were a light - someone who lifted the others with warmth and generosity. I will always cherish your laughter, the wisdom you offered, and the moral contributions you gave me, remains an unforgettable memory
Though you have left this world, your spirit remains with us. Your kindness, your joy, and your love will forever be in my heart. Rest in perfect peace, dear PJ

Sending in my love, strength, and my deepest condolences to the family
You RTN Peju has made yours unforgettable with your sense of subtle humor, care, inspiring, loving and great nudging.
Your take it as it is lifestyle is so admirable as it is one of the things that I noticed when I first met you.
You are indeed a beautiful soul and a great fighter. I understand that as a fighter, we win some some and lose some.
No, I don't want to believe you lost this fight, you only let it slide as you felt it was time to rest and let others take on the battle of life.
Thank you for leading a life of service to humanity, showing others that it is possible.
You will be forever loved in my memory.
Till we meet to never depart again.

My first encounter with you was my 1st Discon in Abeokuta. You made it a memorable on for me with your warmth.
We became even closer when we realized we belong to thesame Alma Mata.
You were a jolly good fellow who wanted everyone comfortable and and happy.
I remember when I mentioned a particular need to you, all you said was that If it was the last thing you would make sure it happened. You actually ensured I got that thing. That is Adepeju, God bless your soul.
That you for calling me to come see you when you needed my help at Isalu. I never knew that would be our last weekend together.
May your soul continue to rest from all pains in Jesus name.
Rtn Adetola
Death they say is a grim Ripper. It sweeps in unannounced to cut short the joy of living, but its sting is powerless to us who know our God! Writing this tribute is a very hard thing I expected to do. Your death is a shocker and I must be sincere about this, I am sorely grieved.
Your service to humanity is truly above self....You literally touched and transformed a number of lives, lit up many spaces you walked into and was a caring and generous soul.
In your usual blunt and courageous self, I recalled an incident when you were so emotional and guided the club on our need to care more for ourselves, even as we cared for humanity.,..it was a great lesson for me too.
Going by my last conversation with you, I am most grateful for the relationship you had with your Maker. From that , l could infer you were a pillar in the Church, a soldier of Christ. You cherished life in all its ramifications, and was a living example of a life well lived and expressed. You have left a void but your memories definitely would be our comfort. Who can question God? It is He who gives and He who takes. To Him alone be the Glory.
Rest in the Lord’s bossom our dear friend and dear sister, till we meet again where neither time nor death can separate us.
" Rtn. Adepeju Adebote: A Shining Star Extinguished
It is with profound sadness that I mourn the passing of our beloved Rotarian, Adepeju Adebote. Her untimely departure has left a gaping void in our Rotary family.
Adepeju was more than just a member of our club; she was a pillar, a driving force, and a beacon of hope. Her infectious enthusiasm, unwavering commitment, and selfless service inspired us all to strive for excellence.
As a Rotarian, Adepeju embodied the very essence of our motto, 'Service Above Self.' Her tireless efforts to make a positive impact in our community were a testament to her generosity of spirit and her compassion for humanity.
Adepeju, your memory will live on in our hearts. Your legacy will continue to inspire us to carry on your good work. May your soul rest in perfect peace.
Farewell, dear friend and fellow Rotarian.
Rotarian Olukayode Ariyo"
God's purpose has been fulfilled for your life as you impacted lives positively with joy till the very last minute. (That is really rare)
I'm assured that you are now resting in God's bosom
I pray that God will comfort your supportive hubby and kids
Although I didn't have the pleasure of meeting her, the outpouring of love and admiration is a reflection of her kindness and compassion.
Her passing is a colossal loss to the Rotary family, who will deeply miss her contributions and dedication. It is also a profound loss to her household, who will miss her love, care, and presence.
May her soul rest peacefully with her maker. Rest in eternal peace, great one.
Thank you for always loving, encouraging, and guiding me. Even though you are no longer here with us, I can still feel your love guiding. I remember when I was asked to serve under you when you were chair project 2023/2024. during one of our projects at Ajuwon School undertaken by Rotary Club of Omole Golden. You ensured we all participated in the project, and you called each and every one of us anytime you discovered we're not on the ground for work or supervision. You always ask us to check and crosscheck what the labourers are doing to make sure things are in order.
Hmmm. Who are we to question our creator.
The journey of life is like that of a bus 🚌 that everyone of us enter in a different destination, in a different time and place and we come down one after the other in our various bus stop....that's the price we'll all pay in the last day. Hmmm! You have gotten to your last bus stop, bu we'll always remember your love, courage, passion, and support for humanity in our midst. And there's no doubt, we'll miss you so much.
You came, you fought, and you conquered. Continue to rest in his bossom. No doubt we'll miss the smile around your face.
Goodnight Rtn Peju!

I shiver as I write this....
You came, you saw, you impacted lives
You lived life to the fullest
No dull moments
Even while going through pains and despair
You confronted the big "C" head-on and frontally
You reached out to the best for solutions
You crossed rivers, mountains and seas for solutions
We had thought the big "C" had been defeated
Alas, it reared it's fangs again
We are consoled that you lived
A life of friendship
A life of hope
A life of service
A life so short yet impactful
A life to be remembered
And celebrated regularly
I pray for your dearest soul mate
- your hubby and lovely baby
Almighty Lord will comfort them
Your loved ones
And entire social circles
ADIEU SIS PEJU

I will always remember “You’re leaving already. Why?” ❤️❤️❤️
There are no words grand enough to capture the essence of my beloved wife, Lillian Adepeju Adebote. She was not just a wife; she was my crown, my most treasured gift from God. A woman of virtue, grace, and wisdom—a Proverbs 31 woman in every way. She walked this earth with the radiance of an angel, her presence a divine orchestration of love, excellence, and boundless generosity.
Like the morning sun breaking through the clouds, Lillian illuminated every space she entered. She was not just industrious; she was tireless in her pursuit of goodness. She was not just charming; she embodied a rare celestial warmth that made everyone feel valued. She was not just motherly; she was a nurturer of dreams, a guardian of souls, and a pillar of unwavering support. Her hands built, her heart healed, and her words breathed life into all who listened.
To me, she was more than a wife—she was a covenant fulfilled, a divine partner whose presence in my life was nothing short of heavenly orchestration. She understood love in its highest form, demonstrating it not just in words but in steadfast action. Her devotion was a mirror of Christ’s love—pure, sacrificial, and boundless. Like Abigail before David (1 Samuel 25), she was a woman of wisdom and foresight, always a step ahead, anticipating, preparing, and ensuring that excellence was the only standard.
As a Christian, Lillian was a modern-day Dorcas (Acts 9:36). She lived to bless others, pouring herself out like a fragrant offering. She lifted the weary, encouraged the brokenhearted, and gave selflessly, expecting nothing in return. She was a beacon of light, a vessel of divine kindness, always seeing the best in people and drawing it out with her gentle yet powerful touch.
In the world of work, service, and leadership, she stood in a class of her own. Whether in her professional role at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, in the circles of the Rotary Club, or among her dearest friends and family, she exemplified what it meant to be both strong and graceful, powerful yet tender. Her legacy is etched not just in accolades but in the countless lives she touched, the hope she restored, and the love she so generously poured out.
Her presence in our home was like a melody—soothing, uplifting, and unforgettable. She built our home with wisdom (Proverbs 14:1), infusing it with laughter, peace, and godly principles. She was my fortress in times of uncertainty, my intercessor in moments of trial, and my greatest joy in seasons of triumph. Her love was not ordinary—it was heaven-sent, refined by faith, and adorned with the purity of an angel’s heart.
Now, though her earthly journey has ended, her spirit ascends in glorious radiance, joining the company of saints, clothed in garments of eternal splendor. She has fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith (2 Timothy 4:7). Heaven has gained what we on earth were privileged to behold—an angel among us, now home with the Father.
Lillian Adepeju Adebote, my heart aches for your presence, yet I rejoice in the certainty of your eternity with Christ. You have left footprints on the sands of time, a legacy that will never fade.
Rest well, my love, my virtuous woman, my divine blessing. Until we meet again in glory, I will carry your light in my heart.

The fashionista PJ, the life of every socials, the loving mother of Fiyin, nothing remains the same without you 💔 😢
You finally left all pains behind, resting with your creator.

Her memory would never be forgotten.
When I joined Rotary Rtn. PJ wasn't around. The minute she came back, not even into fellowship, I felt the excitement, joy and gratitude. When I finally met her, I better understood the reason for the joy....such a sweet soul.

Mercy George-igbafe (MGI)

A wonderful soul, a fearless fighter for any course she believed is just and right. She expresses her mind and keep her friends in check.
I confided in her about why and how I have kept my fear for taking alcohol for over 30 years. Each time we meet at social function or club event, and I was in any circle where alcohol exist, she would approach me ''GOL watch it and mind yourself''
I will miss her jokes, sense of humour and straight take on issues, hot or cold.
She has a high sense of integrity and accountability. No matter what anybody says she will keep accounts of financial dealings in exercise books. she told me that's what she does with her business as well.
We have been on trips together mostly for club functions, district conferences, club retreat etc. she is always an amazing person and highly conversational.
To my dear brother, Mr Tunji Adebote, Rot Yinka and other members of the family. I share in your pain, I have been on this road before, and things will never be the same again.
Please grieve as you can but be in control of your mind and help our dear Princess process this phase of life with wisdom and will to overcome. God will give all of you the strength to carry on without PJ.

Since then, my every interaction with her has been nothing short of pleasant. She had this crazy, unbeatable mix of wit, humour, sass, and sarcasm. She was the kind of person who would leave you gasping for air between laughter. She loved teasing me about how I’m somehow soft and hard at the same time, and honestly, I think she enjoyed watching me try to figure out which one she thought I was in per moment.
Chai! Aunty Peju, this is hard to bear. I am no stranger to loss, but this is heart-wrenching.
You were unafraid of living and enjoying life. The only time I ever saw you hesitate, perhaps just a little, was when the conversation was about your husband and daughter. They were your HEART. We all knew how you so wanted to be here for them, to love them for as long as possible.
You loved unabashedly!
I’m glad I got to know you, to laugh with you, to share and cherish some real moments with you no matter how few.
You lived.
You loved.
I love you.
You will be deeply missed. Please hug Ayotola for me.
Though you may be gone, your legacy lives on through the countless lives you touched. I'll miss you dearly, but I'll continue to celebrate your friendship.
Rest in peace, dear sister. You will never be forgotten.
The fashionista PJ, the life of every socials, the loving mother of Fiyin, nothing remains the same without you 💔 😢

Let me sing your song for you, knowing it is going to be the last time;
"Adepeju omo oba, mama Yoko nigba ojo, koma fese kenini, enini ojo wee wee wee."
In you I found a confidant, friend, and a sister. It is difficult to accept that you're truly gone.
We didn't agree on this, but who are we to question God?
So many plans, wishes, agreements... Hmm.
Your memory will always live on in my heart and in the heart of the many others you have impacted.
It is incredibly painful, but I surrender to God's will. O ye Oluwa, Adepeju.
Goodnight Mama Iyin

I got her from far away
Across the Atlantic bay
You ran abroad again
And the phone died
She called me again
I want to join your club
When will you return?
And her voice fainted
PAG Kay took her up
To RC Omole-Golden
She started to serve all
Served with her mind
She was SAA at best
With fun and jokes
But blunt and straight
And the woman died
We saw her morning
Her glowing afternoon
Skipping her night here
And the woman died
She did so much early
Served with her might
Humanity her business
But the woman died
Even in surgery pain
She gave to humanity
Without counting cost
And the woman died.
This poem is written and dedicated to Adepeju who I sponsored her Rotary membership. She gave all to humanity without counting cost or return.
OLUROTIMI ADELEYE

Yours was a life of love, compassion, service and humanity.
You were an enigma of sort. I feel so proud that l accepted the offer to sponsor you from our Doyen, who was away in USA then.
Your passion, commitment and service was uncommon. Your energy and zeal for service was inspiring.
Two Fridays before your passing will remain indelible in my memory as l was in the hospital with you and your husband for over two hours chatting and reminiscing on various events. I never knew that it was a special way of saying goodbye.
You will surely be missed in our fellowship and our social gatherings.
I pray that your gentle soul will find rest in the bosom of your maker.
Peju, rest on till we meet to part no more.
JUST LIKE YOU HAVE ALWAYS DONE
You joined us in
Omole Golden, like yesterday, bringing to the table, so much energy; so much enthusiasm; so much dedication and so much passion that challenged even some that you met on ground.
You were with us for a few years that appear like two decades, offering all you could from your first day till you could do so no more. Even in your frail body, you pushed on with the uncommon selflessness.
You didn't just pass time among us; you hurriedly left your footprint on the sands of time. Like if you knew there was no time. You were everything the club allowed you to be. You were the Vice President and Chairman, Service Project. Your speed was awesome, your zeal was exemplary. You were indeed a Rotarian.
Now that you have gone to rest, you will, for sure be missed in measures beyond prediction. But even as we pray for your soul to find eternal rest, we take solace in the fact that you have done your part in giving peace to others; relieving others of their pain and making the world a better place.
As we bid you farewell, be assured that we shall carry on with what we shared whilst you were here. The resolve to work tirelessly to feed the hungry, nurse the sick, help the poor and lift up the downtrodden. Just like you have always done.
Adieu Peju.

I take solace in the fact that you're with the Lord.
Thank you a d Thank God Almighty for all you've been to us friends and then to your family.

I will always remember you for who you were. Genuine!
You say it as it is.
Adieu my sister.
God chose to give you rest.
Rest well till we meet again
Ciao❤️
I will always remember how you call me "Osas of the Most high" you have not snapped me today with a smile. Thank you for your time here on this side of life and the impact you made, the lives your touched. I pray your soul keep resting and your family will find comfort in the work you have done and lives you have touched and impacted. Peace and Peace.
You fought a good fight and you won
You will be greatly missed
