To Wayne and the girls ..Janice and I have been good friends for over 60 years so I already miss her. She was so loving, kind and so full of life! Through the years we made it a point to stay in touch.. We had good times together either for meals, shopping malls or at the casinos.. But most of all, when we would visit at each other homes or meet up in Vancouver to be with my family up there .. yes, those were the days and we will treasure them forever.. It makes me sad that I will never hear her voice and how she would clear her throat and giggle at something. Yes she was special and I really enjoyed our long discussions on the phones.. Just remember that you have lots of wonderful memories of moments and times together and you can draw comfort from that! And I know she loved you all! Grieve as all of us will do when we lose our Mother but she would want you to be happy because you had so many years together.. Also you may be apart for awhile but someday you might meet again.. For now please take care of yourselves.. Thinking of all of you fondly… The Whongs

Auntie Janice will be greatly missed. The sparkle of life in her eyes and smile are etched into my memories of her.
A neighbor like family- trusted and caring for each other over the many decades. Still think Auntie will coming to my parents door sharing chocolate chip cookies… ❤️

Dear Lieu Family,
Let me start by saying how very sorry we (Nelson, Laurie, Lesli and me) are for the loss of you loving wife, mother and grandmother. One could not help knowing immediately how loving and caring Auntie Janice was, and the importance that family was to her.
I first met your family a bit over 34 years ago, but over the years, we only had casual contact at holiday gatherings and such at Cheryl and Kelvin’s house. But a couple of years ago, I came into a deep one-on-one and impactful conversation with Aunty Janice. I had a lot on my mind and Aunty Janice listened to me with understanding and compassion. Ever since then, I’ve regretted not getting to know her better.
I feel cheated.
We first met your family 35 years ago in Monterey Park where Janice and Wing hosted Cheryl and Kelvin’s engagement party. Upon entering the home, I remarked how beautiful and clean the house is. Aunty Janice quipped, “I clean whether it needs it or not.” Today, as I was cleaning my own house, it occurred to me that I also clean, whether it needs it or not and remembered Aunty Janice’s words. I hung on to those words, and found them to be precious. It’s sort of surprising how a seemingly insignificant comment can turn out to be so significant and meaningful.
I hope you can find comfort in the memories of her love and fine character.
With deepest sympathies
