Janice Sue Glinski

When someone we love becomes a memory, that memory becomes an angel.
With Love
The world was lucky to have you, and so were we.
To know our Mom was to know someone would always be there for you.
That was her gift. She made room for others to be seen, to talk, and to know she had their back, without ever needing to say it. When you were with her, you felt loved.
We were lucky to be her children. We learned from her what matters most: kindness, thoughtfulness, sharing joy, and caring deeply about the people around you. She showed us, every day, how to live with an open heart.
Her grandchildren embody so much of who she was. They carry her warmth, her loving nature, and her rare ability to make others feel valued. Through them, her love keeps moving forward.
Family meant everything to her. She treasured time together, the memories made, the laughter, and the shared weight of life’s ups and downs. Those moments were never taken for granted.
Her friendships were lifelong. Deep, steady relationships she carried with her through every season of life. Loyalty came naturally to her. So did showing up, again and again.
And then there were all the others. Anyone who met her felt her kindness. The children she taught. The parents she helped. The community who she always had time for. Even people she never met felt her quiet generosity.
She was always sending her angels ahead to look after the people she loved.
Now we feel her doing the same for all of us. She is still with us. Still close. Still looking out for us, just as she always promised.
If you want to honour her, do what she did so naturally. Do something nice for someone else.
That is how she lives on.

She was my very first experience with childcare when I attended Junior Set as a child, and looking back now, that experience helped cement the path my life would take. Long before I ever understood what early childhood education truly meant, Janice showed it through her actions—her patience, her warmth, her genuine care for every child who walked through her door.
As I grew older, she became more than just a memory from my childhood. She became a mentor and an inspiration, someone who influenced my decision to become an early childhood educator myself. Her loving nature, calm presence, and unwavering belief in children left a mark on my heart that I carry with me every day in my own work.
Cobourg was truly a better place because of Janice. Her impact lives on through the countless children, families, and educators she touched—including me. I am endlessly grateful for her influence, her kindness, and the legacy of love she leaves behind
