Live every day as Zak would, with kindness and plenty of smiles. He lived with gratitude and may you do the same in memory of our beloved Zak. Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day.
Obituary
Zakary A. Koller, age 20, of Janesville, died unexpectedly Sunday, Aug. 6, 2023, at his home.
He was born at Beloit Memorial Hospital on July 2, 2003, the son of Matthew and Mary (Flynn) Koller.
Zak attended St. Patrick Catholic Elementary School, Franklin Middle School and was a 2022 graduate of Janesville Parker High School. While at Parker, he ran cross country.
Zak worked at UPS in Janesville since his graduation.
Zak could always be seen with a big smile. He loved big family gatherings, listening to music, taking rides with his friends, playing video games, and a good fireworks display. He also cherished cooking with grandma Koller, playing with his beloved dogs, Trigger and Pete, and going to Snappers, Brewers and Bucks games.
His favorite times, though, were spent with friends and family, especially at the cabin at Currie Lake with grandpa and grandma Flynn, his dad’s cabin in Gleason and also hunting on his aunt and uncle’s property.
He is survived by his parents: Mary (Lori Kisting) Koller and Matt (Kim) Koller; brother, Mitch; step brothers: Trent (Brit) Krueger and their daughter, Riley, Nick (Elizabeth Panther) Krueger, Brett (Baleigh) Krueger, and Kyle Krueger; grandpa, Jim (MaryAnn Sperry) Flynn; grandma, Judy Koller; step grandpa, Ken Komprood; aunts and uncles: Laura (Terry) Fons, Jamie (Linda) Flynn, Pamela Kreisler (Karen Linden), Tara (Matt) Bratzke, Traci (Shahid) Shekhani, Rich (Jodi) Koller, and Eric (Megan) Komprood; as well as many cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandma, Kathleen “Kay” Flynn; grandpa, Dick Koller; and step grandma, Luann Komprood.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, at the APFEL WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, 21 S. Austin Rd. Janesville. Chaplain Tom Moe will preside. Visitation will take place on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services at the APFEL WOLFE FUNERAL HOME.
