Grief never ends… but it changes. It's a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith… it is the price of love.
Eulogy
Wilson Chwa, beloved husband, and loving father, passed away suddenly of a heart attack on June 24, 2024, at the age of 59. Born on August 19, 1964, in Rangoon, Burma, he was the oldest of four children. He was a devoted son, husband, father and a big brother who cherished his family and friends. The family immigrated to the US in 1975, and subsequently settled in San Gabriel, CA. Wilson was part of his high school cross-country running team. He once successfully completed Santa Monica marathon and placed third.
Wilson embodied gentleness, patience, and peacefulness in his daily life, which was a testament to devotion and faith. Married to his beloved wife since 1998, Margaret, Wilson symbolizes the tranquility of a calm sea and steadfastness of an oak tree. He was an adoring father to his daughter, Megan, who was his pride and joy. His family was his world, and his actions always reflected his deep commitment to their well-being and happiness.
A devoted Christian, Wilson's life was shaped by his profound love for God. His faith was expressed not only through his participation in church activities but also through mission trips. He served as a high school youth counselor for almost a decade at his home church in Monterey Park. He participated in numerous short-term missions, traveling to Thailand, Burma, China and Berlin to offer his time, skills, and compassion to those in need. Recently, Wilson was an active member of Epicentre in Pasadena, where he found joy and contentment in serving the church and community.
Wilson found immense joy in simple, everyday pleasures. A homebody at heart, he loved gardening and could often be found tending to his plants, finding peace and fulfillment among nature's offerings. He loved taking photos of his flowers, plants and occasionally home-grown fruits and vegetables. He also loved taking photos of sunsets especially against the silhouette of his neighborhood. His frugality and penchant for bargain hunting were well-known among friends and family, and he always had a knack for finding the best deals.
Wilson had a love for traveling, especially with his wife and daughter. Sharing meals with his family, and savoring exotic flavors, that created lasting memories that they will hold onto dearly. The trio took every opportunity to capture sunsets either in their local or foreign destinations. Whether it’s a beach vacation, a mountain getaway, or a cultural city exploration, family travels always bring them closer together.
In honoring Wilson's memory, we remember a man who, despite life’s trials, embodied patience, peace, and love. His legacy is one of devotion—both to his family and to his faith. Wilson's gentle spirit and loving heart will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Romans 8:32 (NLT)
Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?
I believe this verse truly characterizes him:
"Do not let kindness and truth leave you;
Bind them around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor and a good reputation
In the sight of God and man." Proverbs 3:3-4
home. "The Lord gave and the Lord have taken away, May His name be praise forever".
