William "Billy" Robert Brush

Obituary
It is with very heavy hearts and disbelief that we share the news of Billy's sudden passing on Friday, November 14, 2025 at his vacation home in Belize.
Billy is survived by his best friend and wife Kelly of 27 years and was a proud father to their children Blake and Zach. He leaves behind his mother, Margaret, his sisters Jane (Danny) and Joan (Lyal), his brother-in-law Andrew (Kim), his mother-in-law Betty (Wayne), his sister-in-law Maxine, 7 nephews, a niece and his honorary sister Lise. He is predeceased by his father Bill senior, his sister Beth, his father in-law Carman and his brother in-law Geoff.
With the change of seasons, Billy always looked forward to going to Red Bay for the summer. Billy enjoyed time with the cottagers and permanent residents, who became extended family in the small community. While at the cottage, his favourite pastime was driving his golf cart and stopping to talk to everyone he knew. He also loved going out on the boat to Beament Island with Kelly, family and friends, or fishing with his sons. In recent years, Billy and Kelly were able to spend much of the winters in Belize hosting family and friends at their vacation property.
Billy had a big heart, which was only surpassed by his big personality. He lived “for the moment” and had a presence that was larger than life.
As per Billy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life at the Polish Banquet Hall in Burlington, 2316 Fairview Street on Saturday, December 20, 2025 from 1-4pm.
Those wishing to make donations in honour of Billy may do so to the Wiarton Hospital:

Unfortunately I will not be able to be there on the 20th but will be thinking of you all. Big hugs...Liz xoxo

We’ll never forget the first day we met Billy and family in Belize who became our new and bestest neighbors! We shared many good times with Billy ,Kelly, Zach and Blake and they were always filled with fun and laughter!
Billy always brought us fresh fish after some very successful fishing trips.
You’ll be greatly missed.
RIP Billy

Or catch a sunset on their observation deck.
Or go for brunch after Kelly successfully ran another End of the World marathon.
Billy was such an easy-going and helpful neighbour, with lots of chuckles and words of wisdom to impart. He often reminded us that no matter what item broke down in Belize (which happened almost daily) there was no use in sweating the small stuff. It was all an adventure! Good Lord!
We wish we could have had a little more time to go out fishing and have a few more adventures with you, Billy, but we are eternally grateful for the time we did get to spend with you. Man, we miss you.
