If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart, I’ll stay there forever. - Winnie the Pooh

Obituary

Vickie Louise Grap, born Vickie Louise Hicks, passed away Tuesday, December 30, leaving behind a legacy of love and generosity that will be remembered by all who knew her.

Vickie was a beloved wife and a devoted mother to seven children. She is survived by five of her children: Kevin Grap, Tammie Grap, Kaila Russell, Kirstin Grap, and Justin Grap. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Franklin Grap and two sons, Michael Grap and Mark Grap, whom she carried forever in her heart.

Family was the center of Vickie’s life. She especially cherished her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, whose laughter and presence brought her endless joy and comfort. Their happiness among her greatest treasures.

Vickie had a gift for making people feel at home. She loved gardening, baking, crafting, and knitting, and her home was always filled with warmth, good food, and open arms. No one ever left her house hungry, and everyone was welcome—whether family, friend, or someone in need of kindness. She was known for her wonderful laugh, her gentle spirit, and her constant willingness to help others without hesitation.

Her kindness was quiet but steady, shown through everyday acts of love, generosity, and care. Vickie touched many lives simply by being herself, and her presence brought comfort to those around her. A memorial service will be held in a few weeks.

She will be deeply missed, but her love lives on through her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

I’ve known beautiful Vickie from a very young 20ish…One of my most treasured examples to follow through life. She was the Best at everything and I will miss our notes back and forth and knowing I could still see her!

Service

Please join us as we remember Vickie Grap and celebrate a life well lived. While we mourn the loss of our dear mom, she would have wanted us to gather, to share our favorite moments, cherished memories, and the joy she brought into our lives. Your presence would mean a great deal to us during this time of remembrance, reflection and celebration.

We are deeply grateful for your love and support during this time. While we kindly ask that no flowers be sent to the service, we would be honored for you to share your memories instead. Being together and remembering her means more to us that anything.
