We had a lot in common. We both loved OPM, kpop, TV shows that went on for years. Di kami nakakatapos ng museum in 1 day. Binabasa kasi namin lahat ng pwede basahin. At pareho kami mabagal maglakad.
We once spent a whole week museum hopping. We commuted back and forth, from Rockford to Chicago, where the museums were.
On the last day, on a bus on our way home, there was a lady from China and a gentleman from India seated behind us. They were just seated together by chance and had a very interesting conversation about their migration experiences. I normally just slept on the bus. It was a 2.5 hour ride. But in a marites moment, I listened to their conversation the whole 2.5 hours. When we got home, I told Ate, ang ganda ng usapan nung asa likod namin. And she readily agreed. She was apparently listening to them the whole time too. 😆
I guess we shared a love for listening to interesting stories too.
I was supposed to take her to the museums here in the Philippines when she visits or when she retires.
I'm going to think about her and miss her on my next museum trip...

generous and caring especially to her twin nephews. She is a person that I look up to and she will be missed always.

When I immigrated to the US, she made sure to ask what I needed and tried to take care of me from afar. She was the kind of person you could ask for advice or help without judgement.
She was my maid of honor when I got married and she was my firstborn’s godmother. She used to go with us on vacations and spoiled my kids whenever we’re together.
We all miss her.
