Tommie Davis Sr., aged 73, passed away peacefully at his home in Baltimore, MD on March 30th 2024. Tommie was born on October 18th, 1950 in Proctor Arkansas.

Anyone who knew him could attest to his charming personality and his knack for making people laugh. He truly never met a stranger and always had a kind word for everyone. He was very charismatic and always upbeat. He often shared his dreams and thoughts and was set firmly in his goals. These traits accompanied him well into his careers. Tommie was the type of person who willingly sacrificed his needs to meet the needs of others. Being extremely loving and thoughtful, he epitomized the concept of a “people person”. Tommie leaves behind one son, Tommie (Leslie) Davis Jr., and one daughter, Tina (Aaron) Dada of Maryland and seven grandchildren: London, Dilana, Piper, Adalyn, Nehemiah, Davis, and Ashton. He dearly loved his family.

Tommie also leaves to mourn his passing, three sisters: Bobbie Henderson of Proctor, Arkansas, Mabel (Eddie) Collins of North Little Rock, Arkansas, and Shirley (Jessie) Williams of Peoria, Illinois.Tommie was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Davis and Robert Davis, and his siblings: Osborn Davis, Luella Moton, Bertha Davis, Leslie (Bill) Davis, and Alberta Gillam.

At an early age, Tommie professed a hope in Christ at First Baptist Church in Edmondson, Arkansas. He attended BG Wedlock Elementary School in Edmondson, Arkansas. He was one of a group of three African American students to first integrate West Memphis Public High School from which he graduated. He later attended the University of Arkansas (AM&N College) in Pine Bluff, Arkansas before entering a career in the United States Army. He served as Sergeant First Class (SFC), medac, in the United States Army at Fort George G. Meade. He retired after 21 years of service and soon after found joy and fulfillment in home improvement, kitchen design and planning.

Tommie will be deeply missed and forever loved for the legacy he left behind with his family and friends.

I’ll never forget all the time I spent with Tina and Mr.Tommie as a kids. I’ll always remember his white Z with me in the trunk headed to Ft. Meade or the time all this American Doll product was delivered to their house and Mr. Tommie allowed Tina and I to dress up and play with it all before he sent it back. My heart is heavy, but I know God has you in his arms. Miss you and Love you.

My Deepest condolences to My Niece Tina Dada, My Nephew Tommie Jr. , and All the Family Members.

Tommie Davis Sr. was my Brother of Love . My Fondest Memory of Tommie Sr. was when at a Thanksgiving time, he said to me, and my Brother's Wife (China), that he could cook a good tasting Turkey, but while we observe him in the kitchen , we did not see him use enough seasoning, sp, when he walked out the kitchen , China was the look out person, and I started rubbing in more Seasoning on the Turkey before he came back to the kitchen, and when the Turkey was done, Tommie was bragging how he cooked that Turkey, but we never told him that we put our spin on it. lol😂😂😂😂😂😂.
Yes, there was Always laughter when in the presence of Tommie, and you also had to know when to exit, because he was also a talker.! lol😂😂. Rest easy Tommie , I will Missed you. 🙏🏾 🥲 ( Alicia Bradley) .
