Obituary
Sad to share that Tiiu Mai Brand (nee Mannapso) took her final breath on Wednesday 7th August 2024 and is now the "landlady in the sky". Nicholas, his wife Lucia, and son Oskar were in London and by her side.
As many will know Tiiu bravely battled with cancer for over 20 years. On Sunday 4th August 2024, the cancer in her brain caused a brain seizure. Fortunately, Lucia was at Tiiu's home at the time and supported getting her to hospital, so she was not alone during the sudden change in her health.
Nicholas and Oskar flew in from Asia, and we had nearly two days together before her passing, sharing memories and listening to her favourite music. She was in a deep sleep all along, but we knew she was hearing as she would grip our hands when we spoke.
We are blessed and at peace that she went the way she would have wanted, swiftly and without changing her lifestyle. She was even living her life up until the seizure, on the same day going to her church and having the obligatory drink after with the congregation.
To accord with her wishes, she has had a unattended cremation last month, to be followed by a full-on celebration of her life at a memorial to be held at her church, St Marys, Bourne Street, Belgravia on 26th October at 2pm. We would dearly love this to be a full celebration of her life, and would ask you to RSVP below so we can cater accordingly. Nicholas, Lucia, and Oskar will then head to Salcombe to spread Tiiu's ashes at sea in a place she and Nicholas spent so many happy memories with family and friends.
It has been an emotional number of weeks as we reflect on an amazing mother, grandmother and friend of many. Tiiu was certainly unique, fun loving and had endless love for her family.
RIP Tiiu Brand 7th August 2024.

Your presence would mean a great deal to us during this time of remembrance and reflection. Please RSVP below to assist us in the planning of the catering for the reception after the service.
