A man of candour, calm, with a serene spirit, that always make one feel welcomed in his company.
His smile was like a cloak he wore always.A wonderful father to his children and good husband to my friend Bridget .
You raised your children well and to the glory of. God they are doing exceedingly well.I am so proud of your family.
You have completed your task here on earth and you ran a good race, and now you have joined the saints triumphant at the feet of our Lord Jesus.Loosing a loved one and the pain that goes with it,is heartwrenching and emotionally draining but through the love of our Lord Jesus it is well with the family you left behind and all that are grieving.Rest on beautiful soul until we meet again.🙏🙏🙏🙏

Deacon Okpeki Kagho was quite amiable, soft spoken and a dependable person. He had many friends who came to him for advice and one form of assistance or the other. He had considerably high regards for his friends and would not want to offend anyone. His incredible act of magnanimity knew no bound. Deacon Okpeki Kagho lived a very simple and fulfilled life. He was a family man who loved his wife, children, brothers and sisters alike. He was a devout Christian. He participated in the activities of his local church with very deep enthusiasm. He performed all the assignments allocated to him with profound finesses. He will be sadly missed. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

A Tribute to my good friend and brother. I fondly call Chief Kagho and in his responses to me, he will say my " bro's" with that passionate gentle smile on his face always. I can not express the shock we got when we heard about his death it was unbelievable, but God knows why it happened. And i will never forget his kindness towards me and my wife when he goes out of his way to take us to church and back at all times, He does this with love.
He was a gentle man to the core , kind hearted, and soft spoken . We will miss him dearly.
Good night my brother, till we meet to part no more.
Adieu.

I was quite shocked when l heard of the passing of such a quintessential gentleman; a committed and seasoned health, safety and environment advocate!
I worked with Mr Okpeki Kagho at Addax Petroleum PHC office between 2006-2008. We shared the same office atimes. He was indeed exceptional in the environment we found ourselves. He went about his duties with utmost dedication and ensured compliance with the established HSE guidelines of the company by all and sundry.
I could write on and on about his qualities. In summary, he was a treasured asset.
May his dear soul find peace profound.
My prayers and words of comfort go to his wife, children and
grandchildren.

Tribute to Deacon Okpeki Kagho

Okpeki crossed paths with me in NAFCON. He was the first Nigerian Safety Manager of NAFCON. Safety in a chemical plant is uncompromisable. The unique thing about Okpeki is that he was never known to be ruffled by anything or anybody. There is this pleasantness about him. These qualities demonstrate a man at peace with himself

We became close through his wife, Bridget, who was my late wife, Lizzy’s, best friend. Infact their friendship from their NAFCON days developed into sistership.

Okpeki has gone the way of all mortals. Yes, we all miss him – his immediate and extended families but none will miss him like his wife. They were bonded.

My consolation to Bridget in particular, the children and the entire immediate and extended families of Okpeki is this. It is not how long one lived that counts, but how well. Okpeki lived well and must have returned to his maker a fulfilled man. Even though naturally we would have loved to have him much longer, but his maker had wanted him home at this time. So, you need not sorrow as the world. Okpeki is taking his eternal rest in a far better place.

On behalf of my family, I extend our deepest condolences to Bridget and the rest of the family. We pray that God will grant you all the necessary grace to remain strong in the face of this huge loss. However, your loss is heaven’s gain. I have you in my prayers.

And now to my good friend Okpeki, fare thee well as you take your deserved rest in the Lord.

A TRIBUTE TO A BELOVETH FRIEND
MR. KAGHO - That is the most known name for a majority of his acquaintances. But for most us so close never fails to mention OKPEKI to differentiate him from his numerous siblings going by the same popular family name of Kagho.
Our paths crossed each other at the Delta Steel Company (DSC), Alaska - where we fused and melted into a family unit for 2(Two) Scores and 2(Two) years ago.
We both left the humongous and amorphous Buhari DSC era and were together again at the National Fertiliser Company of Nigeria (NAFCON), Onne, Rivers State.
Deacon Okpeki Kagho was a quintessential gentleman who was also deeply committed to Family, Friends and Communal values. He exuded a smiling persona that was as cool as cucumber 🥒 and was in fact an emblematization and commendable paragon of Humility.
A lot of us would miss drinking from his cheerful and amiable presence.
May Peace Profound be his privilege in the Spiritual Realm until his next incarnation at the Final Market Place where ALL of us would definitely be a Selling and Buying. A-M-E-N.

A Tribute to Mr. Kagho

As a young boy growing up in NAFCON Village, few figures stood as tall—both literally and symbolically—as Mr. Kagho. He was a man of unwavering discipline and quiet authority, whose presence alone could send children scattering through back doors at the sound of his return from work. Yet behind that firm exterior was a gentle soul, one I was fortunate enough to see and feel from an early age.

I never ran. I stayed—drawn not by fear, but by the warmth in his eyes and the subtle kindness in his smile. He welcomed me, accepted me, and made me feel like family. That sense of belonging remains one of my most cherished memories.

Mr. Kagho was more than a neighbor or elder. He was a leader, a pillar of strength, and a force for good. His influence shaped parts of who I am today, and his loss feels deeply personal—like losing a father figure.

His legacy lives on in his family, and through all of us whose lives he touched. Our families are forever connected by the love and respect he so generously gave.

Rest well, sir. You are deeply missed, and forever remembered.

A Tribute to my Elder Brother, Okpeki Kagho.
Bros, apparently you had the most names and playnames in Joseph Kagho - Omomadia family: Okpeki, Enejeta, Innocent; "Pepepe", " Fine Papa". You were our playmate in our youthful years; you were a repository of family history, and I had often asked and learned from you about our years at Cemetery Road and Bazunu Street, Warri.
You succeeded as our family head on the death of our eldest brother, Olorogun Ima Oghenevweme and you led exemplarily. I had wished and hoped till the last day that your leadership would last beyond your 90s, so I could relax, observe and learn from you. But the Lord had His sway, for which we are all grateful
Most importantly, I am grateful to God for the way you and your wife led your family, spiritually successfully. May the good Lord reward you both and your progeny now and forever more.
May the good Lord also grant that you, at least occasionally, have a glimpse from your present abode, of the progress of your posteity. And may You rest with Him till we meet again . Amen .

Okpeki gone ! Incredible, I was jolted on hearing the sad news. He was born great and had ALL the attributes of a man of tremendous substance.
Soft-spoken but firm and forthright.
Despite, odds that he encountered, he gallantly surmounted to breast the earth's terminal tape as a conqueror.
Obviously, Okpeki, left this mundane World a fulfilled man.
Fare well, a man of integrity and abundant faith in the Lord.

A tribute to my beloved brother, friend, and father figure:
"A life well-lived, a legacy of love. In loving memory of Deacon Okpeki Kagho, a gentle soul who touched the hearts of many.
Your kindness, humility, and thoughtfulness inspired all who knew you. Your love and support during my own challenging times (2003) will forever remain in my heart. The warmth and hospitality of your family will always be remembered.
Who would have thought that the one I once pastored (Living Faith Church, Onne, Rivers State 1998) would become a dear brother and friend? Your sudden departure has left a void, but your legacy lives on through the countless lives you've touched.
You leave behind a family that embodies your values of love, kindness, and compassion. May they continue to be a beacon of hope and inspiration to all.
Rest in peace, dear Okpeki Kagho. Your memory will be a blessing to us all."
God knows best.

Writing a tribute for a recently departed family member is such a surreal experience. The reality of our short time here on earth becomes so clear to us as we try to put in a few words or paragraphs the impact of literally a lifetime. I called him ‘Brotha’ when I asked about him from his wife (my sister-in-law) simply because that’s what my husband (!his wife’s brother) called him.I had heard of him long before I actually met him as he made a big impact on my husband and as a result on me. My testimony of him is consistent with everything I heard and I am grateful to God for the legacy of peace and dependability he created for his family, friends and loved ones. We give glory to God for the character of God reflected in his life and conversation. ‘Ladybo’ he would say with a smile and that kind, gentle manner that was his trademark.
Thank you for impacting our lives with such strength of character, dependability and dignity. We will follow after your good work in Christ. Till we meet again in glory!
Adieu Brother Okpeki.

Uncle Okpeki was a man of kindness, grace and quiet strength. Like quiet waters that ran very deep. I admired him for his great example as a family man, holding and nurturing his wife and children in love and cohesion. A true Legacy of Love he left behind. Be rest assured sir, that legacy would endure because love is the greatest.
You never did come back for that bitter leaf soup…lol.
Rest peacefully, man of peace. The Lord and the memories built with sister and your children will see them through this time.

TRIBUTE TO MY ELDER BROTHER, MR. OKPEKI KAGHO OMOMADIA

Ose, like I always call him, I love you, thank God Almighty for the life you spent here on earth, and it was not in vain because you knew God and served him well.
Though you were my brother, but also you were my father, guardian and counsellor, I became what I am today because you cared, loved and cherished and above all, up lifted me. I remember in the 80’s, when I had my TC II and was teaching in Ugheli and running small business and forgot furthering my education. Ose and my beautiful wife will drive all the way from Warri to Ugheli to encourage me to further my education.
Ose, I miss you much. I will not cry again because I am confident that you are resting in God’s bosom. Rest on, till we meet to part no more.

Forever in Our Hearts

He was a loving father to us who truly loved his family and was always supportive. His calmness, patience, and God-fearing nature inspired everyone around him. He always had the best advice, and we’ll never forget how he often reminded us, “Strike when it’s hot,” a saying that continues to guide us today.
He started our days with daily devotions that reminded us of faith and love. We will always remember his kindness, wisdom, and the beautiful example he set. His legacy lives on in our hearts forever.

A Tribute to My Father-in-Law

From the very first day I met Daddy, he welcomed me with open arms. There was no hesitation, no distance, just warmth, kindness, and genuine acceptance.

Daddy was the definition of love and compassion. He led with kind words, wisdom, and a heart that always put family first. No matter what was happening, he made sure everyone felt seen, cared for, and valued. His love wasn’t just spoken, it was lived, every single day.

I will always miss the way he would ask about the kids, with that familiar smile and true interest in how they were doing. Those small moments meant everything because they reflected the man he was, thoughtful, loving, and deeply devoted to his family.

Daddy’s legacy lives on in the love he poured into us. Though he is no longer here with us, his spirit continues to guide and comfort us.

Rest peacefully, Daddy. You will always be in our hearts. ❤️

Having an older brother like mine was one of life’s greatest blessings. He led the way — showing what it meant to work hard, to care deeply, and to live with integrity. He was dependable, wise, and filled with a quiet strength that made everyone around him feel safe and valued.

He took his role as a big brother seriously — offering guidance, sharing laughter, and standing by us through every high and low. His love for his family was unwavering, his faith was strong, and his kindness touched all who knew him.

Even though he is no longer here with us, his spirit remains alive — in our hearts, in our stories, and in the values he instilled in us. He leaves behind a legacy of love and honor that will continue to guide and inspire us for years to come.
You will be greatly missed Brother

Adieu Bro Okpeki!

He was known in our family house as Brother Okpeki. Others called him Madam K’s husband. Some others, simply as Brother! He was married to our second older sister. Regardless of what any member of the family called him, we were unanimous about a lot of very good and noble things about him.

He was a loving, trusting husband to our sister. They had a good home that was warm with love and affection. Always controlled and mild mannered, his home was very welcoming. For most of the family and especially the younger siblings, we were always excited and looked forward to making the stop at their #3 Nelson Willams, Warri abode, as we made our way to our then family home in Ughelli and Isoko.

These traits continued even as his family expanded with kids and his work responsibilities moved him around. Calm, gentle, soft spoken he remained. Always the peacemaker and a gentle man. We never saw him raise his voice anyday nor ever get in a rage. We were always impressed with how he showered his family with visible affection. He was the champion for his wife, his kids, and the Kagho clan. At this time, his homes at DSC and NAFCON had become favorite holiday hang out spots for most members of the family.

Brother was a hard worker, very disciplined. Whenever we went to hang out with him, he was always the first to rise up. Shamefully before some of us were up, he was already dressed, ready for work and had washed his cars himself! He was also the consummate safety professional. “Buckle Up and Live”, “For Safety, Take the Extra Step” – these were a few examples of his stickers we distinctly remember representing a few of the maxims he lived by. We always thought he was very much ahead of his time as one of the earliest indigenous Safety engineering professionals. No question that he was one of the trail blazers in this field.

One of the last time we hung out with him was at Remu’s wedding, in Manchester. A few of us had spent the weekend with him at both the traditional and civil weddings. He was very relaxed, hosting his friends and family who came from far and near to celebrate with. He was the picture of a man that was content, fulfilled and at peace with himself. We could see the joy and pride in him. He was proud about his boys. He was very proud about his only daughter, that he spoke to almost on a daily basis. He was very proud to be a grandpa and cherished the grands kids running all over his place with his three daughters in law. Always the generous person, he blessed us when were leaving with a very expensive bottle of drink. He said it was for us coming and supporting him. For some of us, that was the last time in person with him. Some of us spoke with him several times on the phone thereafter. Some also has the opportunity to also visit in person in Sapele. Regardless of time and place of the last contact, he left us feeling that he was at peace and content. The news of his passing was definitely a shock. But we are comforted in the grief that we would see again in glory because Brother was a believer, a man of faith!

Rest in peace Brother Okpeki! Fare the well Madam K’s husband. Fare the well Brother!

The news of Daddy’s passing hit me like a storm I never saw coming. For a moment, I froze unable to process it, hoping somehow it wasn’t true. My heart grew heavy with memories and emotions flooding in immediately, the laughter, the warmth, and the fatherly presence that made every moment around him feel safe and special.

Daddy Kagho was more than a father figure, he was a gentle soul, calm in spirit, loving in heart, and genuine in every way. He welcomed everyone with kindness.

We have truly lost a great man, but heaven has gained a beautiful soul. His legacy of love, humility, and peace will forever live in our hearts.

My sincere condolences goes to Mommy, MoniG, Remu, Obux, and Owhotu. May God comfort your hearts, strengthen your spirits, and surround you with His peace that passes all understanding. May the Lord uphold you in this season of grief and grant you the grace to carry on Daddy’s beautiful legacy with pride and love.

Adieu, Daddy Kagho.

A Tribute to My Beloved Nephew

Today, I honor the memory of a remarkable man—my dear nephew, Bros Kpeki, who passed away at the age of 75. He was more than just a nephew; he was the eldest alive of my father’s children and grandchildren, a living bridge between generations.

With wisdom gained through years of experience, he became a source of guidance, strength, and calm for all who knew him. His presence was one of quiet dignity, marked by a deep understanding of life and a heart full of compassion.

He had seen the world change, and through it all, he remained steady. His role in the family was not one taken lightly; it was embraced with humility and grace.

To lose him is to feel the absence of a guiding light. But even in death, his influence endures—in the memories he left us and the wisdom he shared.

May his soul rest in peace.

With love and remembrance.

Tribute to My Lovely Father-in-Law

Daddy's presence in our lives has been a beacon of love, wisdom, and strength.

From the very first moment I met him, I was touched by his warmth and kindness. He embraced me as part of the family, treating me like his own daughter. His easygoing nature made every interaction a delight, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have shared countless memorable moments with him.

One of my most cherished memories is celebrating Christmas in Sapele with him. Those holidays were filled with laughter, warmth, and a true sense of togetherness. The joy he shared with the children created an atmosphere of love that we will always hold dear. He was an enthusiastic cheerleader, supporting me in both my small and significant achievements. I always looked forward to his daily devotionals each morning, and I still miss receiving them. These moments remind me of the beauty found in simple times spent together.

Daddy was a remarkable man, one of great character, and family meant everything to him. He taught us the value of togetherness and the importance of treasuring every moment with our loved ones.

As we remember him today, let us carry forward his legacy of love and kindness. Let us honor his memory by living with the same passion and generosity that he embodied. Though he may no longer be with us, his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us.

Thank you, Dad, for everything. You will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

How joyous it was to see you again, dear Uncle Okpeki
At Remu’s wedding — Your smile, lighting every face it touched.

We laughed, didn’t we?
We planned to meet again, as if time were endless,
Oblivious to heaven’s bells quietly calling...
Yet how sweet that day remains —
A photograph of joy my heart will ever cherish.

Seeing you was seeing my father once more,
A soft echo of his voice, a shadow of his kindness —
For when you were near,
It felt as though he had briefly returned,
And the ache of missing him gentled for a while.

Your messages — small pearls of spirit and grace —
Found their way to my phone daily.
Quiet reminders that God and Faith are daily bread.
I didn’t always reply, but oh, how I cherished them.
It was comfort enough to know you were always there.

Now, though you walk the luminous path
We who love you remain —
Your beloved wife, your children, your grandchildren, your family, your friends.
All learning to to adjust to a reality unforseen.

And I, too, hold to my faith, unshaken —
That this parting is not an end, but a repose.
And that your mirth warms the higher skies,
You soar in octaves of light sublime
Where love...life never dies

Journey on, until we meet again, my Beloved Uncle Okpeki
In that bright and endless day where our loved ones gone before now embrace you — evermore - in The Life after Life.

A complete gentleman par excellence. A trailblazer who enjoys mentoring his junior colleagues in achieving their goals. His legacies will forever remain white as the snow in the hearts of all who benefited in his career as the first HSE Coordinator in Seplat Petroleum Development Company, now Seplat Energy PLC. May his gentle soul and the souls of the faithful departed rest in the bosom of the Lord.

Tribute to our Dear Uncle : Late Okpeki kagho-Omomadia

Heaven’s gain! Our father and uncle has gone to be with the lord. ‘Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saint’. Even as our hearts bleed we will not ‘mourn as they that have no hope’. We shall see him on the resurrection morning

Your legacy lives on in the lives you touched.

May you remain blessed in Heaven.

With love and gratitude,
Your Nephew

Brother, the last words you said to me was "God bless you" as you always pray each time I call, or you call to check on me and my family, I didn't know it was the last time I will hear you say those words, even after telling me you were getting better.
You always show concern about our progress and togetherness as a family, your message was quite clear, forgiveness and peace
Your prayers for us were always spot on and so impactful.
You have left us speechless
We will miss you greatly!
Rest in Peace in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Adieu brother !

I never thought, felt, or expected Bro. Okpeki Kagho, to leave so soon. I saw life around him every time. Because of the kind of person that he was, (kind, soft-spoken, simple, friendly, humble) I thought he live longer.
My first encounter with him was in far away Jos in 1980s when I was an undergraduate student at the University of Jos through a mutual friend. At the time I didn't really know him as a descendant of Eghagha. That meeting was revealing.
Since then we've kept in touch, off & on.
And then he left suddenly. Sad.
Painful
But what can man do.
God gives & God takes at His will.
So we give thanks for his life.
He raised a good family.
May God be the father to his children now that he is gone.
May God be husband to the widow he left behind.

Adieu Gentleman Okpeki till the resurrection!;
