Age 73, of Chicago, Illinois
Teresita “Ita” and “La Lady” Wong-Becerio, 73, of Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, at Avantara Park Ridge Nursing Home after bravely battling long-term complications from COVID, with her family by her side.
Born in Chicago, IL, to Antonio and Rosa Wong (nee Arroyo), Teresita was a proud graduate of Madonna High School. Over the course of 50 years, she dedicated her professional life to supporting others as an administrative assistant at Amalgamated Bank, Checker, Simon & Rosner, American Express Tax & Business Services, and Essendant.
Teresita was a devoted and loyal wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother. She was known for her generosity, kindness, and deep love for her Panamanian culture and Puerto Rican roots. Her passions included dancing, reading, writing, traveling, gardening, and sewing—activities that reflected her vibrant and creative spirit.
She is survived by her beloved mother, Rosa Wong; her husband, Nicolas Becerio; her daughter, Angelina Briguglio; her stepdaughter, Irene Lopez-Diaz; her grandson, Alexander D. Briguglio; her granddaughter, Kelina E. Hernandez; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Antonio Wong, and her beloved aunt and uncle, Josephina and Herbert Deyne.
