Teo's Journey of Life

Alicia Dela Cruz Huff, a 4'11" vibrant and radiant Filipina, brought into this world a legacy steeped in love, tenacity, and an extraordinary gift for human kindness. Her presence illuminated every room, and her spirit left an indelible mark on all who had the honor of knowing her.

Though Alicia’s earthly journey concluded on March 29, 2011, her spirit endured—most powerfully and convincingly through her firstborn, Teofista "Teo"  Edelmira Darlyn Huff.

As Alicia's role as matriarch transitioned into memory and legacy, Teo faithfully and dutifully stepped into that sacred role. With unwavering devotion, she carried forward her mother’s spirit—nurturing her son, her partner, her siblings, and her nieces and nephews  with the same grace, strength, and quiet wisdom that Alicia once did.

Teo embodied her mother’s cultural vibrancy and elegance. Her selflessness knew no bounds, and her love—for family, for others—was both unconditional and unrelenting. Teo’s energy was infectious, her playfulness a source of joy, and her presence a balm.

Your servant leadership and selfless dedication to your community and beliefs are a testament to your character, Teo. You lived with purpose and passion, always lifting others as you climbed, leaving a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering commitment. Your impact will be felt for generations to come.

On June 1, 2025, Teo was called to her next journey—a continuation of the love and legacy she so triumphantly upheld. Though she has left this world, her impact remains woven into the lives of all who knew and loved her. She was, in every way, her mother’s daughter—and a matriarch in her own radiant right.

Teo, you will never be forgotten. You are forever loved. Thank you—for your guidance, your sacrifices, your laughter, and your endless love. You taught us what it means to lead with compassion and to love without condition. As we carry your memory forward, may we honor you not only in words but in the way we live, love, and lead. Rest gently, our beloved Teo, your light shines on in all of us.

Mahal Kita. Always.

I’m heartbroken by the passing of someone I truly admired. Teo was not only a dedicated board member at Foothill Family Shelter, but also a woman of remarkable strength and grace. She had such a strong presence — yet was always kind, understanding, and compassionate. I deeply admired the way she stood up for what was right and never hesitated to support those in need. Her dedication to helping others and the way she carried herself left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. I’m so grateful our paths crossed. My heart is with her family and all who loved her. She will be missed more than words can say.

I still can't believe you're gone. My heart aches knowing I won't get to hear your laugh, see your smile, or share those little moments that only we understood. You were more than a friend you were and forever will be my family. You always showed up with love and honesty no matter what you had going on. I’m going to miss you every single day. Life won't be the same without you, but I'll carry your memory with me always. Thank you for being such a beautiful part of my life. Gone but never forgotten!!!!! Rest In Pease Teo!!!

Teo was truly extraordinary, her presence left a mark on everyone. She was energetic, full of life and laughter. Her sense of fashion was just one expression of her bold spirit, individuality and an inspiration to how we should live with confidence, purpose and authenticity. Teo had an unwavering amount of compassion and a deep kindness for others, that she actively demonstrated through her volunteerism and board service. She was determined in the face of challenges, always striving for growth and never afraid to reflect, evolve and rise. She inspired us daily, through her actions, words and her heart. I am forever grateful to have worked alongside of Teo and to have called her a friend.

My deepest condolences to her family!

I met Teo at US Bank on her first day. We bonded immediately over our dreams of wanting to be dental hygienists. We grew the sweetest relationship, kind of like a mother and daughter, as she supported and loved me as a banker and then, a hygienist. I convinced her to get a Disneyland pass! I will forever miss her and her high energy. I love you.

To my Big Sis:

There are no words that can truly capture the depth of the heartbreak, sorrow, and emptiness I am feeling right now. I've lost sister, my friend, and since I was a child - my protector. For many years, I’ve been tasked in the role of a protector… and on this day, I lost mine.

I will be forever grateful for your nurturing spirit, your unconditional love, and the kind-hearted spirit you genuinely possess. You've touched countless lives for the better—especially your family’s and I am who I am because of you. On my cloudiest of days, your mere presence makes the sun shine. I only pray that I can find the strength both you and mom possess.

There is a greater place beyond this world, and I know you’ve made it there—you earned it, Big Sis.

You are irreplaceable and I miss you more than words could ever express.

Mahal Kita,
Forever your Lil Bro

Every second that you spent with your nephews meant the world to them, (and me ). I am beyond grateful that they got to know your love and laughter, that you will always be their Auntie Teo, now one of their fierce and loving Guardian Angels.
