

Obituary
Suzanne Jane Wallace of Ashland, MA passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, July 6, 2026, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. She was 81.
Sue was born September 18, 1943, to John and Dorothy Toot of Amsterdam, New York. After high school, Sue attended Springfield College, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education in 1965. She went on to earn a Master's Degree in Special Physical Education in 1976 from the University of Connecticut, building a teaching legacy in Framingham, Massachusetts, that lasted over 40 years until she retired in 2001.
In addition to teaching, Sue was actively involved with the Framingham Teachers' Union, first acting as a building representative and rising to President. Active in the Federated Church of Ashland, Sue served as a Deacon and Council Member, and held a role in managing the Church Thrift Shop.
In addition to her husband of 52 years, William Soutter Wallace, Sue is survived by two sons: Marc Richard Wallace and his wife Susan of Arlington, VA, and their children Patrick, Luke, and Cole; and William Peter Wallace and his wife Emily of Cary, NC, and their children Reid and Jack.
She will be laid to rest in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland, MA, and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Warren Conference Center on Chestnut Street in Ashland on Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. All who knew Sue are invited to attend, visit, laugh, share memories, and help celebrate her life.
