Obituary
Suzanne Adele Jackson (née Moser)
March 11, 1946 – November 22, 2025
Suzanne Adele Moser was born on March 11, 1946, in Seattle, Washington, at Swedish Hospital to Sidney Delbert Moser and Jessie Pauline Moser (Marr). She grew up alongside her twin sisters, Lynda (McMahon) and Cynthia (Mathews).
Suzanne’s early life was filled with family, friends, and deep involvement in her church and youth groups. She received her first Bible at just three months old from her grandmother Lena, and her faith remained a guiding joy throughout her life. She attended Central Washington University where she studied nursing before leaving school to marry. She left the Seattle area in 1968 and moved to California with her new husband Dan Smith.
Suzanne was blessed with two sons, Mark W Smith (1971) and Brian W Smith (1980). She took great pride in being their mother. In 1982, she and her family moved to Seaside, Oregon, where she quickly found a church home at the Conservative Baptist Church—now North Coast Family Fellowship. She taught Sunday school, participated in women’s ministries and youth programs, and found purpose in serving wherever she was needed.
Shortly after settling in Seaside, Suzanne began working for the Seaside School District, where she devoted more than 20 years of service. She began as the assistant librarian at Broadway Middle School and later became the secretary at Seaside High School, retiring in 2010.
In retirement, Suzanne loved traveling to visit her sons, whether seeing Mark in New York City or visiting Brian wherever his military career took him. She later moved to Prineville, Oregon, where she enjoyed the dry climate and spent her final years as an active member in the Prineville Presbyterian church. She was overjoyed when both of her sons and their families eventually returned to Oregon to live.
Suzanne lived an active, social life and made friends wherever she went. She loved to laugh, read, and travel to see her friends and family around the Pacific Northwest. She always had traveling companions in her dogs. She took great pride in completing jigsaw puzzles. She generously gave her time to help those in need and she never met a stranger. Her family feels profoundly grateful to have called her Mom, Aunt Suzy and all who knew her were fortunate to call her Friend.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Jessie; her husband, Wayne Jackson; her sisters, Cynthia and Lynda; and her nephew, Michael McMahon. She is survived by her sons Mark and Brian, her nephew Josh McMahon and nieces Kersten & Neysa Gruening who take comfort in knowing she is reunited with dear loved ones in Heaven.
Suzy's legacy is one of unlimited kindness & devotion to God, her family & her friends.
