Obituary

Our beautiful, brilliant mum, Sue Hallas, passed away very suddenly on 7th August 2026. Isaac and I are in total disbelief that she is gone. The world seems a much quieter, less interesting place without her, and life simply won’t be as bright. 

Our mum was a proud, fierce woman who carried that strength into everything she did. Her sharp intelligence was matched by her politics; she was a fierce lefty who took absolutely no shit, stood up for what she believed in, and challenged the world around her. 

But above all, she was hilarious and brought humour to everything she did. She was a lifelong prankster—cheeky, beautifully naughty, and loved nothing more than winding people up. Mum was determined to laugh every single day, even when things were at their most difficult. 

Beneath her fierce exterior was our mum who completely doted on us. If she loved you, you really knew it and you deeply felt it. She poured that intense, protective love into Isaac and me every single day. We love her beyond words and cannot believe we have to navigate this world without her. 

In strict accordance with her very specific instructions, we have held a private cremation. Anyone who knew her knows that if Sue wanted something done a certain way, she made damn sure it happened—so we wouldn't dare deviate from her orders. 

While there will be no formal funeral service, instead, we ask everyone who knew her, loved her, or was ever caught up in one of her escapades to help us remember her. We would love for everyone to share their funny stories or well wishes on her memorial page. When we are ready, we want to look back on the incredible joy and chaos she brought to the world. Your beautiful mum messaged me when I was going through one of my roughest times with my health she offered to take me out to talk about going onto hrt and all the side effects to it - I was given it a week ago and we never did get that chat but I’ll never forget her kindness
