In Loving Memory of Steven Paul Merson

Steven Paul Merson passed away suddenly on Monday, October 12, 2026, at the age of 68.

Steve was predeceased by his beloved parents, Samuel John Merson and Grace Isobel Whytock Merson. He will be dearly missed by his loving siblings, Michael (Marilda) and Anne (Ivan); his niece, Melissa (Alex); and his cherished great-nieces, Annabelle and Margaret. 

Steve will also be fondly remembered by his extended family, particularly the Campbell and Armstrong families, with whom he treasured spending time at the cottage. The gatherings, laughter, and memories shared during these special times held a very dear place in his heart. He will also be greatly missed by his many friends at the condominium where he lived for over 30 years, who became an important and valued part of his life.

Steve had a special love for animals, especially his beloved cat, Marty, and his late cat, Buddy, who brought him years of companionship and happiness. He was also passionate about research and generously volunteered his time at Sunnybrook Hospital in support of cardiac research, reflecting his desire to contribute to something meaningful and make a difference in the lives of others.

Steve's sudden passing leaves a profound sadness in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his wonderful cooking, his one-of-a-kind laugh, his warmth, humour, and the countless memories he created with family and friends. These treasured moments will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Steve will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held close in the hearts of his family and friends.
