Obituary For Steven (Skurv) Brady Liston

Steven Brady Liston passed away on February 27, 2025, at the age of 62. He lived a full and adventurous life, always finding joy in the simple things—whether camping under the stars, hunting and fishing with family and friends, or searching for his next great find (always at an amazing deal) as a passionate collector.

Steven is survived by his son, Travis Brady (Tara) Liston; his daughter, Amanda Lynn Liston; and his beloved grandchildren, Greyson, Charlie, and Lincoln. He also leaves behind his sisters, LaMinda Madenwald and Debra (Robert) Wilde; and his brother, Kelton (Jeneanne) Liston. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gloria and William, and his brother, Clayton (LeAnn) Liston.

Steve had a successful career at Hill Air Force Base working for the Department of Defense for many years. Those who knew Steven will remember him best for his love of the outdoors and his cherished time spent at his property, where he was happiest with a bloody mary in hand, surrounded by great company while listening to good music. Whether riding his motorcycle on the open road or sitting by the campfire with his dogs by his side, he embraced life with a free spirit and a deep love for his family.

Steven will be dearly missed, but his memory will live on in the stories shared, the traditions carried forward, and the countless moments of laughter and adventure he leaves behind.

Steven will be buried at his land, “Life is Good in Talmage”, in Duchesne County on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11 AM.

A celebration of life will be held at Jeremiah’s Restaurant in the banquet room on Monday March 10, 2025, from 5-8 PM.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating on Steven’s behalf to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

Fly high, Steve. We will miss you.

I will never forget the cherished memories of working with Steve at H.A.F.B. He brought warmth and laughter to every day, making even the toughest moments easier to bear with his infectious smile and kind heart. After retirement, our bond grew even stronger. Living nearby, Steve had a way of showing up unannounced, running up to my backyard with food in hand, grinning as he’d say he just knew I was hungry.

His thoughtfulness and generosity were unmatched — always looking out for those he cared about, always ready to share a meal or a story. Steve had a rare gift for making people feel loved and valued, and his friendly soul touched everyone lucky enough to know him.

God bless you, Steve. Thank you for your unwavering friendship, your kindness, and the countless memories that will live on in my heart. You were truly one of a kind, and I am forever grateful to have had you in my life.
R.I.P. MY FRIEND 🙏

Steve was one of the most sweet, big-hearted, generous, caring , tough guys I've ever known. He shared his many hours of stories, music, tons of pictures, even his cooking. But most of all, he spoke dearly about his family and his love for his family, his dogs and bragged about his grandchildren. He made me and many others laugh with his great sense of humor. He would drop anything to be there for anyone who needed help. He had many friends and surely they will all miss him. I hope there's motorcycles in heaven for him. I will dearly miss you Steve.

Steve was always one of my favorites. I never ran into him, or he never came to see me, without a smile on his face, regardless of why he was there. He was my kind of person. Rest in peace brother. My condolences to his family.

I have great memories of Steve and all of the hunting and fishing stories we shared. Our boys played baseball together and we always made time to chat about fishing after. He will be missed. I know it's a big loss for his family.
