He served as Yard Superintendent (YS) as he's being popularly called by his colleagues and admirers; and also he served as the Building Maintenance Officer, Kwara State Government House before his redeployment to Kogi State.
As fate will have it, at the creation of Kogi State Baba was deployed to the State, he served for a short time at the Ministry of Works, Kabba area Office where he retired as Assistant Chief Superintendent of Works in 1993.
In his community and religious activities, Pa. Stephen Dada Olowosegun a cherished patriarch and esteemed community leader, became the Head of his clan (Olori Ebi) for Ijemu Ayan of Ayede-Otu. Baba’s commitment to his faith was evident in his active involvement with the church. In 1991, he had the opportunity to perform Christian Holy Pilgrimage to Jerusalem to witness significant points of his Christian faith. His spiritual journey was deeply connected to St Andrews Cathedral Church, Kabba Dioceses, Kabba, Kogi State, Nigeria, where he worshipped and served diligently in various capacity. His contributions to the church and the broader community left an indelible mark, earning him the admiration and respect of all who knew him.

Together, they nurtured a robust family, raising children with love, wisdom, and strong moral values based on Biblical principles. Baba’s legacy is one of deep family bonds, and his children continue to embody the principles and virtues instilled in them by their father. They were blessed with children and grandchildren. Cheers to a life well spent and may heaven bless you with it’s best.
Baba was such an epitome of love, a caring father. A fulfilled man, because all the godly virtues displayed are mirrored in the lives of his God faring children that happens to be my family friends.
Baba, we will also continue to intentionally strive to meet together at the feet of our Lord Jesus Christ on the last day.
Continue to rest in peace.
We thank God for the life Daddy lived and the lives he touched.
Papa, you were the epitome of love and humility. To you all were relevant and well treated.
An exemplary child of God. A fantastic husband, outstanding father, loving grandpa and a friend to all ( age not withstanding).
Your kindness is song home and abroad.
You have done well Sir! May your great legacy continue to live beyond now.
I can only imagine the rejoicing in heaven of a great soldier back home…
Baba rere… E sun re o…
Although we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with numerous achievements, generational impact, and heartfelt testimonies, the pain of losing you lingers.
You lived a remarkable life of care, selflessness, commitment, and humility. Your leadership guided our family physically and spiritually, introducing us to Christ. Your sacrificial love benefited both biological and non-biological children.
Your kindness knew no bounds, even in your final hours. Your generosity towards an accident victim, rejected by the hospital due to inability to pay, was legendary. You instructed one of your children to contribute to the bill, ensuring the victim's survival. This act left an indelible mark on the victim's family.
Your lessons remain etched in our hearts. The first among them is, *NEVER FIGHT OVER MONEY*, whether with friends or strangers and the second is, *BE GOOD AND FAIR TO ALL*.
You are the greatest of all men to us, your children. A phenomenon, a hero, and a conqueror in life and death. Your exemplary life inspires generations.
We thank God for your life's impact, nine decades of love and guidance and triumph over pain and suffering.
Rest in peace with our Lord Jesus Christ until we meet again.
*JESUS IS LORD.*
Rest on Baba
Sun re o. Baba oninu ire.
We will all miss you.
We would miss you sir.
SUN RE O,TITI A O FI PA DE L'ESE JESU OLUGBALA.
When I went home in April last year, he said to uncle Kayode and myself that if the Lord came quickly for him, this might probably be the last time we would see him. For me it was actually the last.
May he rest on, compassionate father.
