Obituary
Shelton Blane Ammons, 62, died on July 5th, 2024 at the University of Virginia hospital. He was born November 19th, 1961, in Salt Lake City, the son of Yancey Mack and Marie Ammons.
Shelton graduated from Kellam High School, class of 1980. Following graduation, he earned his Bachelors Degree in Business Management from Old Dominion University. He married the love of his life, Leslie Freeburg, in 1986. They celebrated their 38 years of marriage in June. They went on to have two children, Ashley Ammons and Andrew Ammons.
Shelton was a self employed entrepreneur and was able to retire at the age of 51 so he could travel the world with his wife.
Shelton was predeceased by his father, Mack Ammons. In addition to his wife, Leslie Ammons, he is survived by his mother Marie Ammons; his son, Andrew Ammons; his daughter Ashley Ammons; his grandson Noah Soliday; and his brother Blake Ammons.
Services will be held at Holloman-Brown funeral home on Great Neck Rd on July 12th, 2024 starting at 12pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to MDS cancer organization, The Hemophilia Foundation, or Bayside Baptist Family Life Center.
