Shelly Marie Rosenberg

Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day.
Obituary
Shelly Rosenberg, 61, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026 after the family had time for a final goodbye. She was held in passing by her daughter.
Born on December 28, 1964, Shelly was a woman who lived life on her own terms. She was stubborn, strong-willed, and never afraid to speak her mind. If she believed something, you knew it—and she wasn't afraid to stand up for herself or for the people she loved.
Shelly found happiness in the simple things. She loved gardening, something I remember so well from growing up. Our home on 37th Ave near U-haul had a garden bed along the fence that she tended to nearly every day. She loved dolphins, birds, visiting family in Florida, and especially the beach. There was something about the ocean that always seemed to call to her. She also loved collecting “sea glass” along our Lake Michigan shores.
She was also known for the things she made with her own hands—and her cooking was no exception. Her goulash, pot roast, and meatloaf were family favorites, the kind of meals that become memories long after the last bite is gone. I still can never get my roast as tender as she could.
But more than anything, Shelly was Mom.
She wasn't perfect, and neither was our relationship. We had our moments, our disagreements, and times when we didn't always see eye to eye. But she was my mom, and there is no replacing that. Losing her has left a space in my life that I know will never truly be filled.
I will remember her laugh, her stubbornness, her willingness to tell you exactly what she thought, and all of the little things that made her uniquely her. I will remember the mom who loved gardening, dreamed of Florida and the beach, loved dolphins and birds—especially cardinals and hummingbirds—and made the foods that tasted like home.
I hope wherever she is now, she has found the beach she loved so much. I hope her body has been restored and she’s soaking up the sun and feeling the breeze on her face.
Shelly is survived by her daughters, Melissa and Ashley, and her family, as well as those who loved and knew her throughout her life.
A celebration of Shelly's life will be held on October 17, 2026, from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at Great Lakes Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Family and friends are invited to come together to share food, memories, stories, and celebrate the life of a woman who will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Shelly may make a donation to Great Lakes Church. The church has generously provided the space for her celebration of life at no cost to our family, and donations are welcomed by those who would like to support them.
