Sharon Beverly Gaines-Childress

Obituary

Sharon "Bev" Gaines was born in Oakland, CA on January 24, 1954 to Carnell and Pearlean Gaines. She committed her life to God at an early age and that remained throughout her life. She attended Oakland schools, graduating from Castlemont High School and then attending Kansas Wesleyan University where she met the love of her life, Stephen Childress. They married in 1973 with their union resulting in three children. They remained married for 16 years .



Sharon departed from this life on September 14, 2025 and was proceed in death by her parents Carnell and Pearlean Gaines, her sister Vindell.



She is survived by her children Amber, Dana and Christopher Childress; her grandchildren Robert "Jaylin" Holt, Leila McCullough, Cameron Childress, Christopher Jayden Childress, Aubrey Childress, Camden Childress, her brother Anthony Gaines, her nephews Gary and Ravell Sweetwyne, and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
