The world changes from year to year, our lives from day to day, but the love and memory of you, shall never pass away.
Obituary
Shamim Godall passed away peacefully on April 1, 2024, just days before her 72nd birthday. Born on April 5, 1952, in Sharaqpur, Pakistan, she moved to Manchester, UK, in 1975 after marrying Ijaz Godall. Together, they raised three treasured children—Asif, Samia, and Sohail—and she later became a devoted grandmother to Yusuf, Zara, Leila, Myra, Rosa, and Zayna.
Shamim’s radiant smile and caring nature reached so many, a true reflection of her deep and steady faith. Her generous, loving spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her, a warmth that will always be remembered.
She leaves behind her husband, Ijaz, her children, Asif, Samia, and Sohail, and her seven beloved grandchildren, including Noah, a boy she dreamt of three days before her passing, to be born six months later. Shamim’s memory—rich with empathy and love—will forever remain a guiding light, cherished and honoured by her family and all blessed by her presence.

You were the kindest, kindest, kindest soul I’ve ever known. Soft-spoken, gentle, and so incredibly generous—just being around you made the world feel softer. You had this beautiful way of making people feel seen, heard, and deeply cared for, even in the smallest interactions. You left a mark on my heart that no distance or time can ever fade.
I still have your voice notes—the ones you used to send me. I listen to them often. And every time I hear your voice, my eyes fill with tears. There’s something about hearing you again that brings both comfort and heartache. I also look at your pictures, and it still feels unreal that you’re gone. But your love is still here—it never left.
You were, and will always be, one of the most special people in my life. Your memory lives in my heart, in my prayers, and in the way I try to be a little softer, a little kinder, just like you were.
May Allah (SWT) grant you the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous. May your soul find eternal peace and mercy. May your grave be filled with light, and may you be surrounded by Allah’s infinite Rahma. Ameen.
She will always be missed., and will remain in a very special place in our hearts.
When she got ill it was so hard to bear. Watching her go through so much pain was heartbreaking 💔.
Have some wonderful memories of her which I will always cherish. She was truly an inspiration for me and I have learned so much from her. May Allah SWT grant her high ranks in jannat ul firdaus. Ameen.
I miss her so much that it hurts. But I know that she’s in a better place and not in pain anymore.
As we grew older together she introduced me to Dura Quran and gave me a Quran with Urdu translation, whenever I read that I remember her and make dua for her. May Allah accept her good deeds. I will always remember her with fondness for her calm manner and kindness. May Allah grant her jannah-al-Firdos. Ameen

May Allah grant her highest place for Jannah. Ameen ♥️
During her last days we spent time together and I have never seen a faithful, kind hearted, loving, caring and gem of person like her again.
Indeed it’s a huge and unrecoverable loss for me.
May Allah bless her with high rank in Jannah. Ameen!
