Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sean Thomas Pomeroy, a beloved son, brother, friend, and musician from Gainesville, FL. Sean was born on April 25, 2008, and tragically left us on March 18, 2024, at the young age of 15.
Sean will be remembered for his passion for music and his love for science and computers. His talent as a musician brought joy to everyone around him, and his dedication to his studies as a science geek was truly admirable. Sean loved tinkering with his computers - he enjoyed upgrading his dad's old computers from hunks of junk to state-of-the-art machines. Sean was known for his kind and gentle heart, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Despite his young age, Sean was hard-working and determined to achieve his goals. He was constantly striving to better himself and those around him, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Sean's presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Though his time with us was cut far too short, his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
Sean was preceded in death by his Grandmother Marguerite Pomeroy, Grandfather Bruce Pomeroy, and his aunt Deborah Gordon. He is survived by his mother Huan Fen Fan, His father Steven Pomeroy, and his siblings Maxwell Pomeroy, Adam Pomeroy and Grace Pomeroy.
May you rest in peace, Sean. You will forever be cherished and remembered.

I had the honor of spending most of the day in classes with Sean this year. In French class he always made jokes and made everyone else around him happy. He was smart and kind and would never fail to give me paper because I never had any. I'll always remember when he won that bet we made to a get higher score on a test. Sean was one of my closest friends and one of the most beautiful souls I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. When I think of him all that fills my mind are his bright smiles, his spontaneous jokes, and his kind heart. I have known Sean for 8 years and throughout that time I don’t have a single bad memory of him. Whether it be our time in the Williams band together, our periods full of laughter in Biology, our conversations at lunch, or any number of other moments I had with him, remembering him never fails to bring a smile to my face. My friendship with him helped me through so much, and I only wish it had the opportunity to blossom even further. Sean has had such a profound effect on my life, and bettered the lives of everyone he came into contact with. I have known Sean since the elementary school and through middle school. He was always such a nice kid and loved to help others. He was one of my first Chinese friends ever. We sat together throughout second grade. I will never forget how he stood up for me and always shared his sharpie markers with me. May Sean rest easy.

I first met Sean in 6th grade in my middle school, Lincoln. I didn't know him that well but I did attend art classes with him and I later realized that he was a gifted art student so we occasionally talked in these classes. Through these classes, I realized that he is a sweet and kind guy. He was an amazing guy and I feel blessed to have him in my school and my art class. Rest Easy

I have a friend closest to him and it hurts to see him go. I give my respect to his friends (Zayn, Cam, Charlie, and a few others) for always sticking by his side. Although I am one of many who do not know him personally, I know he was an avid One Piece fan. In honor of Sean, I will continue watching the One Piece so someday I can tell him what the One Piece treasure is. Rest in peace bro, you will be missed.

Sean was one of my best friends, I had become very close to him coming into High School. He was such a great person, it only took one conversation to know I wanted to be friends with him. He was always smiling and never failed to make us laugh. Some of my favorite moments in life came from Sean. Even the simpler things like turning around to see his reaction or talk to him in history. Going through part of elementary school, middle school, and high school with Sean he was a good person to be around. He made band practices and classes a lot more fun with his jokes. Sean was one my closest friends back in 8th grade, and our friendship only furthered into high school. We had spent every morning before school just having fun together and goofing around. I met Sean in 6th grade, and have a distinct memory of working on a group project in Mr. Ruud's 1st period class that year, writing a fable about a flamingo and a crow with a moral about internal beauty. Since then I never got to know Sean very well, but any time we interacted or I saw him around, he always had the brightest smile and was always making people laugh. Rest in peace, Sean. Only last week I was going through pictures of my class at Williams elementary school from years ago and sean was in all of the musical related photos. He was a talented guy and though we didn’t exchange many words, he still managed to make the entire room laugh with his humor. I was never entirely close with Sean, but we were the kind of acquaintances that would smile a genuine smile whenever see saw each other. In middle school we rode the bus and sat together for a while. We didn’t always talk after a long school day, but whenever we did, I’d always leave the bus happier than I was when I got on the it. Sean was a great kid. I know that’s an easy comment for a former teacher to make but Sean truly was. He was delightful to have in class, always smiling. The year I taught him I gave him an award- most likely to become a successful business owner because he was just so good at everything he did. It was truly an honor to know him and I will cherish my memories of him. Sean gave me his school photo that year and I still have it hanging proudly in my classroom.
