maybe what you need is someone to talk to.  someone who'll make you feel understood even if they really don't understand you.  someone who's willing to listen.  who's willing to just be there for you even if they have nothing meaningful to say.  maybe that's what you really need.  a friend.  someone who's not there to fix you but willing to cheer and support you... while you figure things out and heal on your own.

Obituary

Scott Clinton Larson, 67, of Beloit, KS, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, KS.

Scott was born on July 1, 1957, in Salina, KS, to Clayton Clifford Larson and Christine Ruby (van Vlaardingen) Larson. He was the third of four children. Scott attended Shawnee Mission West High School, Kansas State University and the University of Kansas. After school, he gravitated to the optometry industry where he became well respected for his knowledge and skills in the business. At his passing, Scott was a Master Optician at The Eyecare Center in Beloit, KS.

Outside of business, Scott's passions were wine, cooking, and painting. He loved discovering a new wine and sharing this discovery with others. He had perfected his cooking skills to the point that he was considered for head chef at a proposed new restaurant. His painting talent was admired by both family and friends.

Scott is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Marc C. Larson, and survived by his brother, Van, his sister, Laurie Carlson (Mark), his nieces, Nicole and Jordan, his former wife, Susan Larson, who he still remained friends with, and his companion, Janey Fisher-Zemaitis, as well as cousins, aunts, uncle and friends.

Our heartfelt thanks to the ICU staff at Salina Regional Health Center for their efforts in treating Scott. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.

A Celebration of Life will be held March 2, 2025 from 2 to 5 pm at 75th Street Events, 214 W. 75th Street, Kansas City, MO 64114.

When I think of Scott I think of an intelligent, multi-faceted, kind man with impeccable taste in clothes, food and wine! I worked with him for many years in the optical industry when he joined us in Washington state. Although his knowledge in the industry vastly exceeded my own, he always showed me respect. When I developed my own frame line one of my first models was named Larson after this talented man. I am sad to know you no longer walk the planet but happy to know your soul soars above us!
