Obituary

Scott Michael Bumsted, aged 63, of Santa Clarita, California, passed away on November 19, 2025. Born on October 16, 1962, Scott’s life of warmth, humor, and boundless love profoundly touched all who knew him.

Scott is survived by his wife, Tracy Estrada. His daughter, Alexandra (Mike) Bumsted. His mother, Mary Jane Shanahan. His sister, Marcy (Erik) Peterson. His brother, Mark (Diane) Bumsted. His brother, Steve (Adalgisa) Bumsted. His step-daughter, Chelsea (Carlos) Briseno. His step-daughter, Avianna (William) Balden. His granddaughter, L. Briseno. His granddaughter, S. Briseno.

Scott was the devoted husband of Tracy Estrada, with whom he built a home centered on kindness, support, and laughter. He was the proud father of two children, cherishing his time with his family above all else. Though he experienced the heartbreak of losing his son Dustin Bumsted, Scott’s love endured in the close bond he maintained with his daughter. His guidance and affection will continue to resonate in her life.

Scott also took immense joy in his role as a grandfather and was overjoyed to be soon welcoming his third grandchild (Lennon Dee). Though he has left this earthly life, his family finds comfort knowing he will be watching over her from heaven.

A charismatic and understanding man, Scott was known for his ability to find lightness even in the most challenging times. He was quick to forgive, always ready with a warm smile or a joke to ease the day. His family, friends, and community will remember him for his unwavering support and generous spirit.

Scott’s memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved and inspired. He leaves a legacy of compassion, humor, and resilience that will be cherished always.

Scott was preceded in death by his son Dustin Michael Bumsted. His father, Larry Bumsted. His brother, Daniel Bumsted. His brother, Gregory Bumsted. His sister, Cynthia Bumsted. His maternal grandparents Mildred and Millard Allman and his paternal grandparents, Helen and Gaylord Bumsted.
