Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sandra Gail Gentry, who left this world on April 29, 2026 at the age of 71. She was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother and friend whose kindness, strength, and love touched everyone who knew her.

Sandra was born on August 16, 1954 in Greenville, Florida, and spent her life devoted to her family, friends, and the people she loved most. Her life was rooted in caring for others. She was a courageous woman with a gentle heart, an infectious laugh, and a special way of making everyone feel comfortable and welcome wherever she went. Sandra found her greatest joy in loving and caring for those around her, and her warmth, laughter, and unwavering love will remain in our hearts forever.

Her days were marked by fishing, travel adventures, gardening, spending time with family, grandchildren, and dog Gaga.

She is survived by her loving husband Ernie Gentry; her children, Christina Hatcher (Todd) Jeffrey Anderson (Kristin); step-daughter Nikki Lyons; grandchildren, Shane Johnson, Taylor Colkmire (Mike), Elyse Anderson, Chance Anderson, Lyla Anderson; step-grandchildren Gentry Jackson and Nicholas Barwick; great-grandson Clayton Hatcher; sister Martha Hendley (Sam); brother Norman Bush; along with dearly loved in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Wilton and Mildred Pearl Bush; brothers James Bush and Donnie Bush.

A celebration of life will be held on May 23, 2026 at the St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church located at 5905 NW Lovett Road, Greenville, Florida 32331. The service will begin at 11 a.m. The family invites you to join them for refreshments and fellowship following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church.
