It is with deep sadness and gratitude that I reflect on the time I was fortunate enough to spend with Sandra. I first met Sandra when she asked for my assistance with the sale of her Aunt Lilith's property. Our initial meetings at her home in Potts Point quickly blossomed into afternoons filled with warmth, laughter, tears, and profound conversations. Sandra's kindness, hospitality, and wisdom were truly remarkable, she was a beautiful person inside and out.

Her generosity and incredible strength have left a lasting impact on me, and I will forever cherish the time we shared.

My deepest condolences go out to her beloved children and family during this difficult time.

With all my love,

So sorry to lose our dear Sandra.

Since moving to Australia last year, my partner Alison and I have had the pleasure of becoming much closer with my Aussie side of the family. Already in the first week of living in Sydney, Sandra had us over to watch her Penrith Panthers win the NRL final.

Since then, we have spent many occasions with Sandra - thoroughly enjoying her fun and loving company, as well as her furry friend Skip who will sorely miss her.

Appreciate Sandra's welcoming warmth and kindness and we moved to a new country - immediately feeling at home with such a generous family to lean on.

Lots of love Sandra and the family - looking forward to celebrating her life.

I met Sandra and her friend Kay when we arrived in England in 1961 and lived in flats at Finchley Road, London.

We had great fun in those days throwing parties and enjoying the London scene. We even shared some time together in Paris.

Sandra became a very special friend whom I will never forget. I will
always remember her kindness and sense of fun. She was a beautiful person inside and out and we never lost touch with each other.

We had the pleasure of hosting Sandra and Tony briefly on one of their visits to England and when Peter and I visited Sydney they gave us royal hospitality which I will never forget. A highlight was celebrating Australia Day at their place in Rushcutter Bay plus dining at Doyle’s. She was blessed with a beautiful family and we always kept in touch via email.

I will miss her dearly.

I have found it quite difficult to find the right words to share in this space about Sandra but I was deeply upset when I heard she had passed away.
In the early nineties Anne Champtaloup asked me to go to dinner to meet Sandra and Tony at their apartment in Elizabeth Bay. She was Anne's second cousin. I think I may have expected a somewhat more conservative couple but boy, was I wrong and to say we had a great night would be a gigantic understatement. Anne and I headed home to Rushcutters Bay in the wee hours of the morning and I nursed a huge hangover at my business meeting a few hours later. We hit it off immediately and that was the beginning of so many great times. Sandra was extremely astute and was often fielding calls from her broker while we were having a long lunch somewhere, often in Bondi Beach. She loved talking real estate and because Im an agent in the area she was always interested in what was happening and I'd often ring her to share a good buy in case she was in the market.
She and I were very different in many ways but it really didn't matter, I loved being in her company, she was so much fun, loved life to the full and was warm with a beautiful generous spirit. Her children seemed very loving and inherited her charm and sense of fun so Sandra will live on through them and their children..
And what a laugh she had, I can still hear it!
RIP my friend

Sandra and my friendship started many years ago at St Cuthbert's when she (Haha) Robin (Dobbie) and I (Kay) were chums, and then in 1961 she and I set sail on the ‘Orsova’ for England. We lived in England for a year in a flat in Hamstead Heath where we were lucky enough to have Arlene and Joy as lovely neighbours.

In 1962 we set off for Paris and found an apartment in a very smart quartier by the Tour Eiffel where we promised faithfully to be little angels and behave perfectly and be extremely quiet. Of course we were evicted from there quite quickly! After much searching we finally found a new apartment in BarbesRochechouart, the worst quartier in Paris and a French friend said we would be raped or robbed within a month.

We were on the 7th floor, of course without an elevator, had a bedroom plus a bed in the living room. The kitchen was miniscule and had a tiny formica table for eating, with a shower base and shower head above. When we wanted a shower, we removed the table drew a curtain around and bingo, the kitchen turned into the bathroom!

The lavatory was on the landing and was shared by the three other apartments and it was a « toilette turque » with a couple of footprints and a big hole to hover over, and when you pulled the chain the water flushed so far out you had to run to avoid being swamped. ..We didn’t get either raped or robbed and loved our apartment, which I can’t imagine how, but we actually thought it was quite smart!!”

Mum was such a softie when it came to disciplining us. I was babysitting my sisters, Kyla and Chels, in Mawson one time (c. aged 11) when I got carried away stoking the fireplace and really smoked out the house! Dad angrily sent me to bed without any dinner. Later Mum came in and gave me a bowl of icecream.
