If I ever leave this world unexpectedly…
Please tell my children how much I loved them.
Tell them they were my whole heart.
The reason I breathed.
The reason I fought so hard.
The reason I smiled on my hardest days.
Show them our memories.
Show them pictures of us together.
Show them the moments we shared.
Show them the way I looked at them,
So they can see the love in my eyes when words aren’t enough.
Remind them of my prayers.
Obituary
Our beloved Sam Kassar passed away peacefully on 12 October 2025, aged 71. Born on 24 July 1954, Sam was a loving husband, proud dad, and loyal friend who brought so much laughter, warmth and light into our lives.
Sam was married to his soulmate, Debbie. Together they shared a lifetime of adventures and endless memories, especially their many trips to Bali, their happy place. Whether relaxing by the pool or exploring new corners of the island, Sam was always happiest with Debbie by his side.
A devoted dad to his three kids, Sam was the heart of our family, the one who could fix anything, make everyone laugh, and fill a room with his energy. His booming voice, big hugs and terrible dad jokes will be missed every single day.
He was also a big part of his community and a familiar face at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, where his kindness and generosity shone through in everything he did.
Sam’s funeral service will be held at St Joseph’s Catholic Church on Thursday 17 October.
We will miss him more than words can say, but we take comfort knowing his love and laughter will always stay with us.
More about Sam
Sam’s journey began in Sudan before he made Australia his home, finally settling in Chipping Norton, where he built a big, welcoming family home filled with love, laughter, and the smell of good food.
He adored his wife, Debbie, and was a proud dad to Nikki, Danni and Adam and an even prouder grandad to his five grandkids: Avery, Alfie, Remi, Mila and Alessia. Family meant everything to Sam, and he never missed a chance to say “I love you.”
Sam ran his own business and could often be found driving around in his big blue ute or pottering away in his garage. He was a collector of all sorts of bits and pieces, convinced everything would come in handy one day, and somehow, it usually did. His “fix-it” style was one of a kind, and it always worked out in the end.
He loved his evenings spent relaxing in bed infront of the TV, and on occasion, he’d share a bourbon and coke with Adam on the front porch. A lifelong Bulldogs fan - win or lose, he never missed a game.
Sam was also known for his big, beautiful smile and his easy chats. He was the kind of person who made everyone feel welcome — genuine, loyal, and full of heart.

Respected family and business associates privacy.
Spoiling Deb when and where he could.
With the move to Australia he still held onto many traditions and helped show his grandchildren the ways of the Sudanese people and transferring the cultures to the next generation.
Loves someone else mowing his lawn so it looks great,
Stange to say but Bulldogs have lost another great (oblivious and tragic) supporter.
His love of his family stretched to all connected and we are blessed to be part of the bigger Kassar clan and thank him to welcoming us into the group.
Love from Gail and Alistair.
Miss him immensely.
