When I first met Rumana, 15 years ago at her salon in Edgware, I instantly knew we'd be friends and over the years we shared so many stories. We talked about everything, she told me all about Zanzibar and her early life, how she made it to the safe haven of the UK and how scary that journey must have been for her parents. I loved hearing all about her more recent travels especially Turkey and the hot air balloon ride which she recommended I do (even if you are scared of heights). Her family trips to Oman and Athens, she loved them all.
We shared a love of cooking, gardening and family life. She always had a plant cutting for me and I am lucky to still have them in pride of place as a constant reminder of a wonderful friend.
They say the good ones get taken too soon, that's certainly true. Rest In Peace Rumana and keep the heavenly gardens beautiful.
Until we meet again XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

What devastating news and huge condolences to all the family. I knew Rumana from the age of 16 and she has been my beauty therapist for over 15 years! She was like an aunty I would catch up with and we would speak about our travels, family and all sorts. She was a wonderful, funny and kind woman and I am absolutely devastated. Sending all the love and support to everyone who knew and loved her. X

I cannot believe such a gentle soul has gone. I am so sad. Rumi had been my beauty therapist for many years. I was so happy to have found such a lovely lady to look after me. During our sessions we spoke about everything our lives, her travels…I will miss her and I wish her family will have enough strength during this difficult time. I will always remember this lovely lady.

Dear Nimah and Ayah,
I was so saddened to hear that your dear mummy and Nani had left us...she is sorely missed and it's no surprise that she touched so many of us in her own special way... My fondest memories of us was at my wedding back in 2007 - she was my made of honour and what a wonderful day it was - thank you for being by my side! Her sense of humour and easy going spirit always made me thoroughly enjoy her company!
Her time had come to be with her parents and despite her leaving a big hole in everyone's heart, the memories she created whilst she was here with us are no doubt ones we will all cherish for years and years to come.
Nimah and Ayah - your mummy and Nani was a beautiful soul - she continues to live through you and you should be immensely proud that she touched so many hearts.
Miss you lots Rumi - may your beautiful soul rest in eternal peace.
Love,
Sabina Mohamed & family (cousin)

The most kindest soul, she would always put everyone else before herself. She reminded me a lot of mama. She would always come round and drop off food that she had attempted to make from her recipe book. Rumi aunty has always been close to my heart. She helped my mum with her entire IVF treatment for me to be alive! And had the honour of choosing my name. So glad she didnt choose something generic like zara. Rumi aunty will be so so missed! 😘🥰
