Obituary
Ronald "Ron" Julkowski
August 18, 1953 – February 23, 2025
On Sunday, February 23, Ron passed away at home—just after spending time outside, exactly as he would have wanted.
Ron had a deep love for the outdoors and shared it with as many people as he could. He encouraged leadership, hard work, giving back, and making the most of every day. Born and raised in Columbia Heights, Minnesota, "Heights" was the backdrop for many of his legendary tales—or perhaps the story came from one of his hunting or fishing adventures. He had a knack for making people laugh and a special fondness for practical jokes, always bringing joy and mischief into any moment. Never one to sit still, even on his last day, he was busy feeding the critters.
More than anything, Ron cherished his family and the lifelong friends who became family. He leaves behind his daughters Gina (Michael) Titter and Maria Bamonti (Tommy Folden) and Granddaughter Ella Folden, along with countless friends who will forever carry his stories and spirit with them.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 29, from 4–6 PM at:
Moore Lake Park Community Building, 5890 Central Ave NE, Fridley, MN 55432.
There will be beverages and hors d’oeuvres and we encourage you to share stories with those around you—make his friends your friends, just like he always did.
At 5:00 PM, we will set aside time for anyone who would like to share a story with the group. If you're not comfortable speaking, you can send your story to mbamonti@gmail.com or post it on this website, and we will read it for you.
Please feel free to share the details of his celebration of life with anyone who may wish to join in honoring and remembering him.
For those who’d like to continue the camaraderie, we’ll carry on the gathering at one of Ron’s favorite local establishments afterward.
In honor of Ron, we invite you to contribute to a place that was near and dear to him—the Menomonie Rifle and Pistol Club E6007 510th Ave, Menomonie, WI 54751. This volunteer-ran club is dedicated to promoting the safe enjoyment of rifle and pistol shooting among its members, the public, and especially the youth of Dunn County. Your generous donation will be a meaningful tribute to his legacy, helping the club continue the youth trap shooting league.
Or, we invite you to go hunting, go fishing, feed the birds, go for a walk...get outside!
