Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ron “Hawk” Segers. Born on September 30th, 1948.
Ron was a proud Marine and Vietnam veteran who honorably served his country and was awarded the Purple Heart after being wounded in combat. He carried great pride in his military service throughout his life and remained deeply devoted to his fellow veterans.
Born in Kentucky, Ron later made sunny south Florida his home after accepting the position of Chief Building Administrator at the VA Medical Center in Miami, Florida, where he dedicated the majority of his career to serving veterans and supporting the VA community.
Ron was survived by his two daughters, Shannon “Kelley” Segers, and Holly Segers Fitzgibbon of Florida; his grandson, Kaeden Fitzgibbon of Florida; and his two siblings, Patrick Segers and Bonnie Segers of Kentucky. He loved the warmth and beauty of south Florida, country music, and spending time searching for unique antiques as an avid collector. He will be remembered for his strength and sense of humor.
Please take a moment to click the memorial link and share your memories and photos of Ron “Hawk” Segers. Your stories and pictures will help honor and celebrate his life.
