Bacon makes everything better
Obituary
It is with deep sadness that the family of Roger Denis Gaudet, of Cornwall, Prince Edward Island, announces his passing. Roger was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend and will be remembered for his kind spirit, quick wit, and the joy he brought to all who knew him.
Roger is survived by his parents Armand Gaudet and Liliane Gaudet, and also by his stepmother Gladys MacIntyre, his sister Murielle (Gaudet) Munro, his brother James Gaudet, and stepsister Michele Rogers and his “adopted sister” Marcie Platt. As well as his much-loved nieces and nephew, whom he fondly referred to as “the elves”: Ryan Munro, Emily Gaudet, and Grace Gaudet.
Roger dedicated much of his professional life to serving others, working with both the Government of Prince Edward Island and Canada Post as well as The Rupture seal.
His commitment to public service extended far beyond his career. He was an active volunteer with CASARA (Civil Air Search and Rescue Association), a highly respected core volunteer with Air Show Atlantic, and proudly served as President of The Prince Edward Island Regiment Association Summerside Chapter
Outside of work and volunteering, Roger was happiest when fishing, swapping stories with friends, and sharing his trademark sense of humour. He will be remembered for his love of bacon, laughter and ability to bring a smile to others.
Roger’s life was defined by his core values regarding family, community, and service and he will be missed deeply and remembered with love and gratitude by all who knew him.
His family wish to thank his many friends for their support during his battle with cancer. He loved all your messages and visits.
His family would also like to thank all of the staff at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre in Charlottetown. These amazing individuals helped Roger learn that it was ok to let people do things for him and that he was never a burden to anyone. He loved you all.
