A life filled with humor, love, and laughter.

Obituary

With heavy hearts but deep gratitude for a life so well lived, we announce the passing of Robert Joseph Supino, Sr., who left us peacefully on May 3, 2025, at the age of 84, from Alzheimer's. Born in Everett, Massachusetts on September 5, 1940, and previously living in Danvers, Ma, Middleton Ma and The Villages, Florida, Bob brought light, laughter, and love into the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He married his high school sweetheart, Glenda Ellen Supino, when they were just 19 years old. Married for over 65 years, they were once voted “Cutest Couple” at Danvers High School, Class of 1958 — a title they happily lived up to for the rest of their lives.

Bob was a devoted husband and the proud father of three children: Robert Joseph Supino, Jr., William Bruce Supino, and Jodi Supino Elliott. He was a loving and playful grandfather to Nicholas Supino, Alexa Sibo, Tasia Correia, Dylan Supino, Joshua Elliott, and Rachel Elliott. He adored his great-grandchildren Maile Supino, Colby Correia, and Aiden Correia.

A proud U.S. Army veteran and lifelong employee of General Motors, Bob worked hard, played hard, and never missed a chance to crack a joke or make someone smile. He was a revered and dedicated member of the Maple Street Congregational Church, UCC where he served as a faithful member on numerous and various committees often being the chairperson.

Bob loved pickleball, golf (with a hole-in-one to his name), and especially billiards (pool). But his favorite pastime were the times shared with those he loved, whether it was playing cards and games, making videos and greeting cards, or simply being the playful and encouraging Dad and Grandad we all adored.

He was the kind of husband, father, grandfather and friend, who always had time to play, who gave his best jokes and warmest hugs, and the kind of man who left you feeling better just by being near him. Bob had a gift for making people laugh — often with a clever remark, a twinkle in his eye, or one of his classic cheek pinches. To know Bob was to smile, experience joy and to feel safe in his presence. His spirit lives on in every story told, every inside joke remembered, and every game played in his honor. Bob's legacy is one of love, humor, and a life well lived.

There will be no formal services. Instead, family and friends are encouraged to share photos, messages and memories in the dedicated spaces below — a place to keep his legacy of joy, humor, and kindness alive through the stories we tell and the love we continue to share. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you spend meaningful time with your loved ones.

I'm blessed to have spent Easter 2023 with Bob and Glenda at Jodi and Robert's. I was in charge of hiding the candy and gave everyone their goodie bags for their candy. Bob didn't say too much but would tap me on the arm and show me the cough drops he found and a stapler. Of course I said that's not candy and he winked and laughed.. always a joker! He was a truly wonderful man and I'm blessed to have known him and worked with him for a short time at AC Delco. I am also proud to be a recipient of one of his cheek pinches. My condolences to the Supino family. RIP Bob. The world was a better place with you in it. I will miss you.

Dear Glenda, Jodi, Bobby, Billy, family and friends!
My heart goes out to you in this time of sorrow! Please accept my heartfelt condolences and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Your dad was a truly joyful soul...always smiling, and laughing! I will always remember how he loved to play with us kids, making everyone feel welcome and loved. His warmth and kindness touched so many lives, and his spirit lives on in all the people he loved!
May God, in His infinite mercy, bring you peace and comfort. I pray that you feel His presence especially close right now and that you find hope in the promise of eternal life. A scripture I just love especially at times like this is John 14:2 "In my Father's house are many rooms...I go to prepare a place for you." I believe your dad now rests in that place of peace, joy and reunion!
May the Lord surround you, (and everyone who knew and loved Bob and are mourning is death), with His love and give you strength in the days ahead!
With deepest sympathy and continued prayers,
Your Cousin Joanne
P.S. Of course I have to add a PS
Jodi this is for you....I am amazed and so proud of how you and Robert sacrificially gave of yourself, time, finances to help your mom and dad during their illnesses and continue to! I have seen first hand just how HARD and EXHAUSTING it is! The time it takes and mental capacity is something no one will understand who has not been through it personally! I SEE you! I see a lot of what you have had to do and continue to and you are doing an amazing job!!!! I'm sorry I just don't have the words! I know God will bless you for ALL your effort!! I commend you, support you and love you!!!

memories last forever! starting with Maple Street Church bean suppers, taping all the Sunday services, committee meetings not so much...many matches on his pool table, he had a home field advantage on that table, when you guys left for Florida and when I ended up with that pool table, I got much more educated on the table rolls! All our parties with friends like Roli and Barb, the Dix's, the Birnies, Pennells, Drouins, many more. That pool table is now owned by another couple from Danvers who use it often. A path well taken, see you on a golf course or pool table, or a plate of Maple Street Beans.

Bob was the perfect person to teach me to play pool (billiards). He was teaching on Mondays at the rec center with Bill Lord. For a newbie at pool, Bob was the best! His patience and humor was remarkable. Bob told funny stories of his younger days playing pool with his friend. He would reward a good shot saying it was "poy-fect"! Such great memories! I'm still playing pool 10+ years later and attribute my stroke to Bob's dedication to the game he loved. RIP Bob🙏

We met Bob on several occasions working with Jodie and Robert on pickleball and didn’t know him well. He had a personality though that stayed with everyone we’re sure, because of the way he treated us, strangers basically, like family members and every time we saw him, he made us laugh. He had the biggest widest happiest smile, we couldn’t help but smile with him and be happy. Thank you Bob for the love and happiness in your heart that you shared with everyone around you. Your light shown through so very bright and beautiful and so the world was better with you in it. Adios, and vayas con Dios.

I have so many happy childhood memories of Bob! Spending time with Jodi, Billy and Bobby with my brother and sister. I felt like we were the brady bunch at times. Playing in your Danvers neighborhood with the McKenna's, swimming at the Blake's and all the sleepovers. Bob and Glenda were always amazing hosts. One of my favorite memories was trying to come up with ways to protect my face from those Bob Supino pinches! Even as I look at his many photos here, I am covering my cheeks reflexively! As a small child Bob always made me feel seen, protected, safe and loved. It may be because he always got down on my level (easier to pinch me) but as he did so, he always looked straight into my eyes with his amazing blue eyes and never ending smile. A rare quality in an adult. And he was just so damned FUNNY and fun to be around!
Thanks for the love and the laughter Bob! You are missed.

Bob was SO much fun to golf with and had a wonderful sense of humor, even up to the last time we played with him. He had a "forever twinkle in his eye", kind of like a little elf getting ready to play a trick on you. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know him. Rest in Peace, Bob.

Growing up with brother Bob was a wonderful and fun experience. Bob was always there to deliver a joke or a funny experience. We had great chemistry for using every day issues and turning them into belly laughter. Of all my brothers, he was my role model. It was a sad day when he joined the Army to serve in Korea. It is an even sadder day to learn of his passing. Love you brother Bob.

One of my favorite things about Bob was his love for videoing events. He volunteered to do our wedding. He did a fabulous job capturing our happiest day. Some 20 years later Bob and Glenda were in the villages in Florida and we were telling him about how much that meant to us over the years and laughed that it was on VHS and we could only watch it in that old format.

A couple weeks later we were back home in Massachusetts and received a DVD from Bob a new copy of our wedding. We didn’t ask for it he just out of thin air sent it to us. He was absolutely one of a kind and will be missed by many.

Nothing captures the essence of the Bob I knew better than the laughter and love shown in all of these pictures. We are all so lucky to have our own wonderful memories of him – ones that I, myself, will never forget. Henry has his dear friend with him now. Godspeed Bob.

The Supinos were great neighbors who I grew up with. Mr. Supino came up with a Nick name for me. have absolutely no idea where this came from but His nickname for me was Teresa Teresa Balderini😀. Will never forget. I am glad to have known this man and his family. Your family was blessed to have had this man in your life.

About ten years ago at my parent’s Christmas party a neighbor brought some cookies to share that were just awful. Well, we found that out because we saw Bob grab one, take half a bite, gag, and put the cookie back on the tray with a face full of disgust! Absolutely hilarious!!! We laughed so hard with him about it that night.
