Obituary

Robert Joseph "Joe" Inducil, 51, of South Pasadena, California passed away on August 31, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on November 27, 1974 in Burbank, California to Robert and Rosario Inducil, Joe grew up with a deep love for imaginative story telling, emerging technologies, and all things having to do with interstellar sci fi. Growing up between Burbank and Covina, he was a wonderful big brother, a best friend to many, and the honorary son to a few. Joe cultivated many long lasting friendships with those who were lucky enough to know him.

Joe's passion for technology has always been embedded throughout his career. He was one of the original founding geniuses of Apple's inaugural Genius Bar in Glendale California in 2001, and after 12 years with Apple, transitioned to Operations Analyst at JPL, where he served for over 12 years providing technical support to some of the most challenging personalities in the industry.

Yet Joe's greatest achievement was never found in an office or job title; it was found at home with his wife and children. He was a devoted husband and father that never missed a recital or family milestone. He documented everything in loving detail and worked quietly, patiently, and seamlessly in the background so his family always had a secure and comfortable home.

He was known by many for his uncanny ability to simplify and explain complex concepts, problem solve with improbable patience, remain composed in the face of high-stress situations, and most importantly, knew when to be totally goofy and make people laugh at the most inappropriate times. He was also an extremely gifted artist, who always drew in pen and could always improv from his mistakes on paper. His talent for art always remained a secret weapon in his life, but for those who got to witness it, knew just from a simple sketch he'd create how talented he was.

A Gen X nerd by all accounts, he was a walking, talking wikipedia page for all things Star Wars, Star Trek, Lego, Apple, Tesla, and Ekhart Tolle. If you ever wanted to know about a gadget and have it explained to you in a level of detail that you didn't know was humanly possible-- he was the guy everyone called on when they needed something to work, a problem that needed to be solved, or a trouble that needed shooting. Joe was literally everyone's tech support-- both technologically and emotionally-- and within him flowed a deep well of understanding, humor, and insight that he will forever be missed and remembered by.

He is preceded in death by his father Robert Villaroman Inducil, and is survived by his devoted wife of 21 years, Vicky; his beautiful children, Aidan, Lizzy, and Charlotte, along with his mother Rosario, and his sister Becky.

A memorial mass will be held for Joe on Saturday, October 17, 2026 @ 10am at St. Louise De Marillac Church in Covina (1720 E. Covina Blvd. Covina, CA 91724) with reception to follow.
