May the wind always be at your back and the sun upon your face. And may the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars.

Obituary

Robert Haseltine passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 20, 2026, due to heart failure.

He grew up in Massachusetts and spent most of his adult life working and raising his family in Connecticut. Throughout his life, he held a deep love for the ocean, finding particular joy in sailing and time spent on the water.

Robert also had a passion for travel and adventure. Whether visiting his son Dan in Italy and Switzerland, his son James in Japan and South Korea, or his son David on the West Coast, he eagerly embraced every opportunity to explore the world. He especially treasured traveling with loved ones, including taking his parents on cruises later in their lives.

Known for his warmth and generosity, Robert was one of the kindest and most genuine people one could meet. A loyal friend, he consistently placed the needs of others before his own. He possessed a sharp intellect, a quick sense of humor, and a lifelong love of reading. Above all, he cherished his family. He was a devoted son, a caring brother, a loving father, and a proud grandfather.

He is survived by his three sons, Dan, David, and James; his grandsons, Jay and Jun, who were the loves of his life; his sister Mary Ann; his brother Tom; his nephews, Peter, Ben, and Brian; his niece, Katie; and his former wife, Andrea, who remained a close friend until the very end. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Ann, as well as his sister, Beth, who always looked out for her little brother.

Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is at peace, no longer suffering. He will be remembered most simply and truly as a good man who loved his family above all else.

“The love of a father is forever carried in the hearts of his children.”  We love you Dad!
