The loss of a child is hard without hope, but 'In Christ' our hope is made perfect that we will meet again.
Obituary
Robert Merrill Case, Jr., age 50, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on December 1, 2025. Born on January 16, 1975, "Bobby" touched the lives of all who knew him with his kindness and gentle spirit. His positive manner and endearing personality created many love bonds and he will be deeply missed by friends, acquaintances, and loved ones.
Bobby’s life was marked by warmth, generosity, and an infectious charm to those around him. Though we mourn his passing far too soon, those who knew him will remember Bobby for his politeness, thoughtfulness and "YES!"" attitude in their lives.
Bobby's life was challenged at the age of three when he, his sister and Dad were injured in a devastating auto accident. Bobby's injuries persisted resulting in traumatic brain injury (TBI), cerebral palsy and autism. Following years of evaluations, surgeries, treatments and therapies Bobby found his way to his "special good home" with his special friends. Autism Services of Mecklenburg County, NC provided Bobby with the best environment and quality care available. Bobby graduated from Webb Street School having earned his diploma. He found productive "work days" through Autism Services of Mecklenburg County, NC under the direction and tender care of its leader, Mr. Prince Johnson, a true leader and man of God.
He leaves behind memories of heartfelt love that will continue to warm those who had the privilege of knowing him. We celebrate Bobby's life and his memory will remain a source of comfort and strength to all.
Bobby was predeceased by his mother Deborah Voorhis Snodgrass, grandmother Margaret M Voorhis, grandfather George D Voorhis, grandmother Viola Y Rader, grandfather William L Case, Jr., grandfather Leonard L Rader, Sr., uncle William L Case, III, aunt Sandra G Case.
Bobby is survived by his father Robert M Case, Sr, stepfather Billy Snodgrass, stepmother Jeanne Case, sister Christina "Christy" Case Stephens, brother-in-law Brandon Stephens, stepsister Kristin Whitley, stepbrother Scott Jalovec, uncle George D Voorhis, Jr. and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and step-relations.
Bobby was wonderfully cared for by the qualified staff of Autism Services of Mecklenburg County, NC, the fine medical staff and providers of Carolina Medical Center and University Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, the caring professional staff of Hospice of Cabarrus County, NC and a host of medical staff, diagnosticians, pharmacists, therapists, trainers, educators. Thank you to all the sports stars in the greater Charlotte, NC area who took time to allow Bobby to cheer them on and who provided photo opportunities that are cherished.
