In the hearts of those who loved you, you will always be.

Obituary

Robert Britton, beloved husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, in Orlando, Florida, at the age of 68. Born on January 24, 1957, in Pulaski, Tennessee, Robert was one of many brothers & sisters and carried with him a deep-rooted sense of integrity, warmth, and quiet strength that touched all who had the privilege of knowing him.

After serving in the Army, while in Louisville, Kentucky, Robert met the love of his life, Chestina. The two formed a bond that would become the cornerstone of their lives together. Married for 40 beautiful years, their love story was one of steadfast devotion and shared laughter, growing stronger with each passing season.

He was a devoted father to his daughter, Robynn Washington, and took immense pride in watching her grow into the strong, compassionate woman she is today. The arrival of his granddaughter, Raegan, brought a renewed light into his life. To her, he was not just “Grandpa,” but a gentle giant source of fun. In addition, he leaves behind a host of nieces, and nephews.

Those who knew Robert will remember his warm laugh, his love of movies, and the way he could always fix any problem with any computer. He approached life with curiosity, kindness, and a quiet strength that anchored his family.

A celebration of Robert’s life will be planned soon, where family and friends will come together to share stories, laughter, and memories in honor of a life lived with grace, humility, and love.

He leaves behind a legacy of service, compassion, and deep family devotion. Though his physical presence will be deeply missed, the imprint of his love and values will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Rest well, Robert. You were deeply loved, and your life made the world better.

My heart was saddened to hear we lost our friend and Security Guard, Robert. Our dear friend came with us from Vistana and anywhere you saw Robert he lightened the area with his cheery hello that would echo the hall with his wide smile that surely cheered you up if you were having a rough day. Wow, so sorry to hear of your loss Robert, you were so very kind, and you will be missed. May your awesome spirit enlighten the heavens as I know it will.

I was deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Robert. I will always remember him talking to me about fasting and working out routines/exercises. His teasing me about my workout being insufficient at the OOC or letting me know he ALREADY completed his workout when I arrived for work at 6am. I miss our chats about the news, politics or just how our families were doing at his desk at the OOC and HQ. He was always looking out for us when extra food was available at work. He was always looking out for US period. Mentoring us. He was my elder at work sharing so much wisdom. He made a real difference for everyone entering the workplace with positive words and the office will not be the same without him.

My thoughts are with you and your family during this incredibly difficult time. Please know that we are all here to offer support in any way we can.

With deepest sympathy,

Onnie

This wasn't easy to write at all because your presence here truly made a difference. Slightly upset with you Robert because you were supposed to come back to our team. Your passing touch me harder than I thought it would, I will miss your humor and witty comebacks the most. I may not have known you as long as others, but it was a great time! Thank you for your kindness and your amazing cooking you know you will be missed! See you later my friend.

As the comments on this page show, Robert touched lives in a truly meaningful way every single day. Through his kindness, warmth, laughter, storytelling, and genuine care for others, he made a lasting impact. For many of us, he was the first friendly face we saw each morning. He was always ready with a great story or a joke, and his infectious laugh could brighten anyone’s day. He had a special love for Caramel Delight Girl Scout cookies, a detail that brings a smile even now. Robert is deeply missed by his MVW family. My thoughts, prayers, and love go out to his family during this time.

Mr. Robert thank you for being a father figure, a friend, motivating me while I achieved my Masters, and most importantly for sharing that smile and conversation with me. This one is tough, but I know you are now making angels laugh/smile. Sleep well and continue to watch over and protect your family.

Robert was kind and faithful, thoughtful and warm. Back at Vistana he was often on duty late nights and always checked on me in my office and drove me out to my car in the golf cart. He made us all safer and happier for many years and we will miss him very much.

I was truly stunned to hear the news last week. From my very first day at MVW, you were the one who took my badge photo—and immediately laughed because my eyes were closed. You didn’t offer to retake it, and I didn’t ask, because I knew that moment would become a running joke we’d laugh about for years to come. You were our first point of contact each morning, always greeting us with a bright smile and infectious positivity. You had a gift for finding humor in everything—even during something as simple as picking up my lunch downstairs. I will miss seeing your smiling face every day. Rest peacefully.

He was endlessly generous with his time and support, going above and beyond whenever someone needed a hand. His cheerful presence and genuine care touched many of us and made our days better. He will be deeply missed.

I met Robert at the building on John Young the first thing he ever said to me was "It's about time you got here, MANNN you cannot be running late! And that was our ongoing joke. Robert had great sense of humor and an infectious smile. We shared wonderful conversations about family and current events. I will miss our back-and forth banter. REST IN PARIDISE

Robert was an amazing man and a great friend of mine. he had a big smile, a hearty laugh and a sense of humor that brightened the room when he was around. He seemed to know everyone in our building at MVW, and they all always seemed to light up when Robert was on duty. He always spoke very fondly about his wife and family, and I could tell how much they meant to him. I pray for all of them as they suffer this devastating loss. I will miss our many talks about food, exercising, the old days, Stephen King novels, and pretty much everything. But most of all I will miss you, Robert. Rest in peace, Brother.

Robert, I'm going to miss you clowning me every time you saw me. Even when I wasn't feeling like coming into work, you cheered me up every time! I always sat next to you at the work meetings just to mess with you and laugh with you. I'm definitely going to miss you, your encouragement and your amazing ribs because they were the only ones I've ever ate. This really affected me, but I thank God for the time I had with you at work, God bless your family and watch over us.

God calls his angels home without worldly warning sometimes and while we didn't get to say goodbye to our beloved Robert, I know that he took a little piece of each of our hearts with him on his way to meet our sweet Jesus. What a wonderful man he was to each of us. His family's words via his obituary are truly a beautiful testimony to who Robert was; what a loving descriptive of his specialness, so many gifts of the heart. I laughed when I read his favorite food was Mexican, I would have sworn it was ribs! Haha, I've tasted his "rib work".
Our daily lives are forever changed with Roberts passing, there is just an empty feeling when you hit the elevator foyer, always looking around the wall to say good morning and feel his genuine love for you. Always ready to give joy out to whomever may need it...for FREE...EVERYDAY! I am praying for his family's peace and understanding, I look forward to when we will meet again Robert, until then, rest easy big guy, we will miss you. You are so beloved.

I’m deeply saddened by the loss of my friend and co-worker.

Robert worked the front desk in our building, and he was truly one of a kind. Always in a great mood, always quick with a warm hello, and always ready to chat—about anything and everything. He had a way of making you feel welcome and seen, even on the toughest of days, when I'd be dragging myself into the office.

There were mornings when I’d walk in feeling low, and just seeing Robert’s smile and hearing his voice made things better. Some days just that wave and acknowledgment from him was all it took. He brought light and kindness into our everyday routines, and I’ll miss that more than I can say.

Thank you, Robert, for being a bright spot in so many lives. You made a difference, and you’ll be remembered with love and gratitude.

Two and a half years was not nearly long enough to have Robert’s brightness in my life, but it was certainly a blessing the time I did have with him. He always said he’d have to taste test my lunch for safety and quality! He was the shining star of our company and he will be so missed.

I am heartbroken by the news of Robert's passing... he was one of the kindest, friendliest, most positive people I've ever encountered. We formed a friendship, and every time I would walk into the building I'd look for his smiling face and chat about exercise, fasting or anything in general. He would always ask about my daughter and would beam with joy when speaking about his granddaughter. I will miss seeing him at the office.... my prayers and condolences go out to his family. He will be greatly missed.

I have only known Robert for a short time since we moved into the new MVW building. But I've come to see him as the older brother I never had. He worked out with me in the gym at 5 AM, even creating a strength program for me. We always talked throughout the entire workout. I am very much saddened that I will never see or hear him calling out 'Bruno!' every time I walk into the MVW lobby...

I have so many fond memories of my friend Robert. We shared our loved for reading, tv series, movies, and food. I have never met anybody so kind and compassionate. He had an awesome sense of humor and was loved by everybody here in the office. I am an early riser, so I will come to work early and just talk to him. That was my therapy from Monday to Friday. Robert was amazing and I will miss him dearly. He took my sister and I under his wing and always looked out for us. Robert will come to the office always bringing us something, either food, or a Stephen King book he just read. He was larger than life. I pray for his wife Tina, his daughter, granddaughter and rest of the family to find strength and peace during this difficult moment. He will be greatly missed by so many people. Rest in peace, my friend. I miss you so much already.

Ten years of friendship with Robert was a blessing, filled with laughter, adventure, and unforgettable moments. He was more than a friend, a mentor who guided me with his wisdom and humor. I'll always treasure our conversations, his BBQ, and the way he'd tease me. Most of all, I'll remember his kindness. May his memory live on in peace.
