Obituary
Robert (Bob) Joseph Bernicky; a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on June 18, 2026 in Nashville, TN at the age of 71. Born on November 30, 1954, in Hammond, Indiana, Robert was the son of Joseph John Bernicky and Ann Marie (Bilka) Bernicky.
He was a devoted family man, leaving behind his daughter Nicole Anne (Bernicky) Reynolds, her husband Mark Shane Reynolds, and their children, Luka Gage Reynolds and Lenny Sloane Reynolds. Robert was also a cherished brother to Joanne (Bernicky) Rosen and a loving brother-in-law to Raymond Rosen and Delores Miller. He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph Michael Bernicky and his former wife, Jaeme Ann (Tytus) Ferro.
He was a proud graduate of George Rogers Clark High School class of 1972 and furthered his education at Purdue University. Robert served his country with honor in the United States Navy aboard the USS Midway and USS Guadalupe from 1972 to 1977. His dedication to service was a testament to his strong character and commitment to his country.
Robert was a devoted Catholic and was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Crossville, TN. Bob found peace on the water with a fishing pole in his hand, and enjoyed the simple things in life. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome, whether it was with a home-cooked meal, a story, or simply his presence. His grandchildren lovingly knew him as “Bobba”; a role he treasured above all else. They brought out his gentlest side and filled his life with laughter. The love he had for his family was unwavering, and the lessons he taught through his actions—loyalty, generosity, resilience, and love—will remain with us forever.
Robert will be remembered for his generous heart and love for his family. Whether casting a line on the water, preparing a meal large enough to feed anyone who stopped by, or simply spending time with those he loved, he made everyone feel welcome and cared for. His warmth, kindness, and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will be treasured forever.
