Obituary
Richard Elias Lampros was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 18, 1950, to parents George Elias Lampros and Muriel Ruth Needham Lampros. He grew up in Brooklyn, where he graduated from James Madison High School in 1968 and then attended New York University where he excelled academically. Richard had a brilliant mind and frequently lectured to friends, relatives and others on a variety of his interests, including history, geography, linguistics, Christianity, Buddhism, Egyptology and other subjects.
Richard had a successful career as a principal salesman and production manager in the garment industry in New York City, where he was for a long time known as the “shoulder pad king.” Richard had a very kind and caring nature. Throughout the 1980’s he tirelessly ministered to a number of friends who died terrible deaths much too young. In 1991 Richard and his partner relocated to Albuquerque, Mexico, where he worked in a variety of businesses and pursued his interests in collecting Asian and Native American art and artifacts and continued to pursue his lifelong love of dogs, often owning 3-5 dogs at one time. During 2025 he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, which was being treated when he died suddenly of very rapidly developing acute Leukemia. He is survived by his brother, Robert.

The last time i picked up Richard and took him to the shop for his cut and drove him home. The person who had been driving him recently quit so i offered help. He said he would call me in a month. since then, Tried calling him and found his phones had been canceled, and didn't have an address, Thought , maybe he had gone to visit brother. Looked him up finally on google and found this information. I am so sad,and am at a loss for words. I will miss him dearly. as i know you also will. please accept my condolences, Patricia Gonzales
