Marc Cohen
Marc made a lasting impact through his work, his generosity of spirit, and the way he showed up for his teammates.
Obituary
It is with great sadness that we share the news that Marc Cohen passed away on 15 January 2026, following a seven-month battle with cancer.
This is incredibly difficult and sudden news. Marc was a much loved colleague and a deeply valued part of WoodMac for nearly a decade. He made a lasting impact through his work, his generosity of spirit, and the way he showed up for his teammates and our business.
Marc leaves behind his wife and two children. Our thoughts are with his family at this heartbreaking time, and we are focused on supporting them in every way we can.
You will be deeply missed, Marc.

My sincerest and heartfelt condolences to Marc’s family during this extremely difficult time. I worked in an adjacent team to Marcs at Global Insight and then IHS. Even though I didn’t report to him, he was great counsel, generous, warm-hearted with a great sense of humour! Seeing all these photos of Marc brings back great memories. It’s utterly unfair. Rest in peace Marc.

Extremely saddened to hear of Marc’s passing. My thoughts are with his family during this very difficult time. Marc hired me at Global Insight in 2006 and gave me the opportunity to move to Dubai with my wife and children — something that shaped both my career and our lives in a profound way. I have many great memories of working with Marc, and I will always hold those memories close. May he rest in Peace.

Marc, you were such a wonderful man, kind, caring, considerate and such a people’s person. You were looked up to by a lot of people at WM for how personable you were also a great leader.
You made socials fun, my shot buddy for many many years (I will miss this).
You enjoyed life, maybe not all the travel but someone had to do it.
I feel very fortunate to have know you for your time at WM and we always checked in with one another on life, work etc
Rest easy now Marc, your fight is over.
Have a Sambucca for me.
Love to your wonderful wife and children. xx

I’ve only just recently heard about Marc and am truly lost for words. Such very sad news. I worked with Marc in the Financial Services team in the later years of WMRC and Global Insight, before we became IHS and moved to 133 Houndsditch. In the last few days, so many treasured memories have come flooding back, and they will stay with me forever. My deepest condolences to Marnie and the family. Rest in peace, Marc.

I've been struggling to find the words to write - and still am. When I last saw Marc in person, we talked about pain and suffering but also some good times... we had many good times... but there can never be enough. I have much to be grateful for, not least the constant mickey taking about his football team. He was the calm, deep thinking, intelligent caring man every one talks about. But he was honest and he never shirked a question. Great principles, great person, great times. Rest well, my friend.

I am so saddened by this news. I worked with Marc at IHS for a few years and occasionally bumped into him after he left. He was super smart, always kind and a pleasure to work with. My deepest sympathies to his family

Marc had a lasting impact on the lives and careers of many at WoodMac, including mine. He was always available to help and support, and did so in a fun and kind way.
My thoughts to his family and friends, and a big thank you to Marc for all the time and attention he gave us.

I joined WoodMac at the same time as Marc and I always remember how he immediately was so friendly and open with me. When I joined WoodMac I was 24 years old so I've spent the majority of my working life being coached and mentored by Marc. He was someone who has helped me navigate some of the biggest decisions in my career and Marc always gave me time to chat and discuss things, despite how busy he often was. Marc signed off on the decision to hire a colleague in to the business, who years later became my wife, so I have so much more to be thankful to Marc for than my professional career and friendship!
One of my highlights and my cherished memories with Marc was visiting India in 2024 and exploring the Taj Mahal and some other amazing experiences on that trip. We had a celebration evening and all of us danced the night away wearing funny bandanas.
I send all my support, love and thoughts to Marc's family and friends.

I had the privilege of working with Marc for many years and experiencing his tremendous leadership firsthand. He was always calm and focused and always strove to bring out the talent in those around him.
He was a great sounding board who always provided thoughtful advice and encouragement.
He taught me many lessons that I still use to this day and am grateful to have known him.

Five words to describe Marc fun, kind, calm, respectful and supportive.
So so many memories over the years Marc was my biggest cheerleader and will never forget the support he gave me during my divorce, right up until a couple of weeks ago he told me to 'hang in there Lou'.
I miss him terribly, his presence will never be replaced I feel so fortunate to have run three Apex Clubs with him those memories will never fade.
I'm just happy he is not suffering any more.
Love to Marnie, Rafi and Ava.
RIP xxx

Marc was a wonderful man and great leader. No matter what was going on he always found time for colleagues, taking a genuine interest in their life and offering advice and support. His humour and energy will be greatly missed across the organisation and his impact will be long lasting.
My thoughts go to his family at this time. RIP Marc

The one big thing for me with Marc that really stands out is kindness. I didn't work directly with him on many projects but given I was sat in the vicinity of his office, he was always polite and always said hello whatever the circumstances. He was busy but always made time. A big loss to WoodMac and big loss to all that know him. Rest in peace.

Marc was an incredible leader; approachable, attentive, and always willing to listen to our problems, pain points, and challenges. He offered candid, thoughtful feedback and genuine encouragement, always with our growth in mind. I’m deeply grateful for his guidance and support, and feel blessed to have worked with someone who balanced empathy with honesty. His impact on our team and on me personally was profound. We miss him dearly. Rest in peace, Marc.

I first met Marc in June 2019, since then he has been a colleague, peer, mentor & boss but mostly my friend. He is one of the good guys - loved us at WM, nearly as much as his family, friends and his football.
He has an energy about him, a natural leader whom encourages and supports all around him. Every time I am with Marc, I either learn or laugh, often both. His legacy remains in all those that he has touched.
He is alive and well in my memory. Cheers matey.

Although I didn't work closely with Marc often, it is a testament to his kindness and wish to make genuine connections with colleagues that I feel his loss in the London office. Whenever we bumped into each other in the last ten years it was a pleasure to talk about what was going on in our lives, both at work and outside. My heart goes out to his family and close friends as they grieve the loss of a lovely man.

I was incredibly fortunate to spend time with Marc at Woodmac, specifically on our Apex trip to India.
As a leader he was incredibly approachable and curious.
Our trip to Delhi, he spoke passionately of his family, his boys and their school trips.
He also had an amazing ability to rap through House of Pain - jump around, word-by-word. I'm sure there's video evidence!

I’m honoured to have had the privilege to work with Marc over the years. Whether it was on Gazprom or most recently, within the Customer Org, Marc was always available to confide in. Marc was incredibly smart and hard working but defo knew how to have fun along the way.
I’ll be forever grateful of your partnership in our support and care for our dear Darlyn. It just saddens me that we’ve lost you now, just a short while after Darlyn’s passing.
Rest easy Marc and much love to your family. Allyson

I feel so fortunate to have known Marc as a mentor and leader. He gave me opportunities that shaped my career and helped me believe in myself. He brought fun and joy to every day and taught me lessons about kindness, family, and being there for others. His guidance and support left a lasting mark on me and everyone who knew him. I will miss him deeply.

The people and relationships you make are what makes it all worth while. I was and still am so very honoured to have counted Marc as a friend, close confident and counsellor. He made sense of the complexity and guided me with a steady hand and unwavering loyalty and professionalism. We laughed every day, often at someone’s mishaps or just a Spursey moment. But we laughed and enjoyed each other’s company greatly. I missed him from the day I retired and I miss him now.
RIP Marc.

Very sorry to hear this news. Marc was always encouraging when I had an idea or thought. To someone new in the company and industry that made a really positive difference to me and I'm very grateful for it. He always seemed to be smiling.
I remember once walking into the London office just after 7am to find Marc there first and alone. When I walked in he grinned and shouted down the office: ''Finally! Someone to talk to!''.
Thinking of all those who knew and loved Marc. May his memory be a blessing.

I feel very lucky to have had the chance to work and get to know Marc. He had such a warmth and genuine care for people, and he restored my faith in sales leaders! I got to know Marc in the 3.5 years at WoodMac, but he was a true culture creator wherever her went and he always had time for people. I will be thinking of you all as you grieve his loss and find comfort in the amazing man he was.
Sending my hugs and love to you at this difficult time.

Although I only had the privilege of knowing Marc for three years, he made a lasting impact. His vigour for life was truly infectious — he brought an energy into every room that lifted everyone around him. Friendly, approachable, and always ready with a smile, he had so much more to give, and it feels deeply unfair that his time was cut so short. I feel truly privileged to have known and worked with him.
Marc is missed every single day, not just as a colleague, but as someone who made my work life brighter simply by being there.
My thoughts and warmest wishes go out to his family; I hope they find comfort in knowing how many lives Marc touched and how much his Woodmac colleagues miss him.

Such a pleasure to have got to know Marc as colleague and friend over the last decade. A diligent and exemplary professional, he always had front of mind supporting a positive culture in the business and the well-being of fellow Woodmac people. I will miss him greatly.
