To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.
Obituary
Reginald Nepaul of Middletown, age 92, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026. Born in Jamaica to Osmand and Hilda May Nepaul née Williams, he leaves a legacy of hard work, devotion, and love.
A master auto technician, Reggie owned and operated Nepaul’s Garage, a successful business in Savanna la Mar, Jamaica for 27 years with determination and talent. Amid political unrest and increasing violence, in 1978 he and his wife made the courageous decision to move to the United States with their three young children. So, at 44 years old, Reggie started over as an auto technician at Gig Motors in East Hartford (1978-1999). Thereafter, he was the resident expert on restoring and maintaining antique cars at Reynolds Garage and Marine in Lyme (1999-2005).
Reginald was the beloved husband of Beverley Gennevieve Nepaul née Patterson; loving father to four children and their spouses: Sharon Nepaul and Edwin Babadaglian, Michael Nepaul and Michele, Reginald A. Nepaul and Stephanie Richardson, and Ava Nepaul and Jason Siegel. He was the proud grandfather of Joseph Siegel, Ryan and Jordan Nepaul, and Eric and Michael Mallett. He is survived by his sisters Evelyn Santiago, Loraine Nepaul, and Verelyn Webster. In death, Reggie is reunited with his parents, daughter Sharon, and siblings Zachariah, Rudolph, Kenneth, Gerald, Florizel, Iris Pryce, and Edna Grant.
Reggie will be remembered for his genius, stories, and generosity. His memory will live on forever in the hearts of his family and all who knew him. A private burial is planned. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Breakthrough T1D.

Rest in eternal peace my friend.

I recall being a passenger in my mother's car when she would visit Reggie's garage in Savanna La Mar.
I attended Manning's School with his brother Florizel(deceased) His Brother in Law Roy Grant taught me mathematics at Manning's, His sister Verelyn was my hairdresser for while after I graduated from Manning's and I got to know his sister Edna(deceased)very well also.
I also knew very well, Reginald's older sibling Zachariah (deceased) Mass Zachy, as he was affectionately known. A very pleasant and Philantropic pillar of the business community in Savanna La Mar.
Reginald lived a long and fulfilling life. May his Soul Rest in Eternal Peace and may God grant his Family and Loved Ones the strength they need in this time of their bereavement.
