Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life.
The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;
and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.
Do you believe this?" -- John 11:25-26

June 6, 1972 – December 3, 2024

Reggie Chan, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2024, in Sydney at the age of 52. Born on June 6, 1972, Reggie’s life was a shining testament to joy, kindness, and unwavering devotion to God, his family, and his community.

Reggie was known for his vibrant spirit, a man whose laughter and warmth lit up every room he entered. His fun-loving and approachable nature made him a cherished presence at gatherings, drawing people in with his infectious energy. Yet beyond the joy he radiated, Reggie was a pillar of strength and steadfast love. He shared 19 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Anita, and together they raised their son, Jed, the pride and delight of Reggie’s life.

Faith, family, and friendship were the cornerstones of Reggie’s journey. As a dedicated member of the Chinese Christian Church, his faith inspired his actions, his humility shaped his service, and his contributions touched countless lives. He found deep joy in worship and in fostering a sense of community, embodying a servant’s heart in all he did.

Reggie’s impact reached far beyond his family and church. His genuine kindness, ready smile, and compassionate nature left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He lived with boundless love and a passion to shine for Christ, qualities that will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.

In Reggie’s memory, let us carry forward his legacy by embracing life with the same vibrancy, kindness, and faith that he exemplified every day. His life was a blessing, and his memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew and loved him.

I was Reggie’s maths tutor when he was in high school. He was one of two of my most polite and kind students I ever taught. He was diligent in his work ethic and grateful for my assistance. Long after he had finished school, I witnessed his dedication again in 2017 when he acted as my real estate agent. I have always been deeply impressed by his constant warm smile. Last year, I wrote to him, asking him about his condition. He replied to say that he would go to Hong Kong to pay some gospel debts, which revealed that he was not focused as much on his illness so much as winning souls for Lord Jesus. Although he is no longer with us in this world, his witness remains to set a wonderful example for Christians and non-Christians alike.

Dear Anita and Jed,

Our heartfelt condolences to you both on the loss of your beloved husband, friend and Dad. May our loving Heavenly Father comfort you in times of grief and encourage you in times of disappointment in Reggie's absence.

How we long for the day where death is no longer able to separate. May the Lord give us strength, patience and courage to keep on following Him till the day He calls us homeward or when Jesus returns.

Much love and prayers,
Susana and Steve
