I met Bro. Rasul almost thirty years ago playing the piano in the Salaam restaurant and sharing stories with the Believers. I had the pleasure of hearing him on the Unity Fajr prayer line years later where he would share his life experiences growing up and answering questions on faith. He was selfless and you definitely FELT the love. He was very humble and it was one of the first times in my life that I witnessed someone so unapologetically comfortable in his own skin! He made the "littlest" believer feel seen and accepted. May Allah be PLEASED with him. Sending love and condolences to his wife, children, siblings, extended family, loved ones and ALL who were touched by him. I'm convinced that he was an ANGEL!!

I had the pleasure meeting Bro. Rasul over 30 years ago when I was a teen in STL. In 2016, my youngest son Karriem-Zahir (May Allah be pleased with him) met Bro. Rasul after the Ramadan Retreat in Georgia. Karriem was filled with such warm sentiments about their meeting. Their hearts were very similar. Karriem became known as a hugger until his last days. I'm so happy they had met.
May Allah continue to bless the family and keep spinning out that love! Please accept my condolences. May Allah be pleased with Bro. Rasul H. Muhammad. Peace & Love

I remember sitting at the table with Bro Rasul at Bro Farrakhan birthday celebration. Members of MM25 traveled to HQ for the dinner and celebration. He had us laughing the whole time and he was just a joy to be around. May Allah be pleased with our brother and bring comfort to our family and Nation!

I was deeply saddened by the news of our beloved brother Rasul's departure, but I also felt incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to speak and spend a short while in this magnificent, kind, electrifying, humorous intuitive and loving presence.
The Ministry of Love Healing retreat that our beloved brother Rasul hosted in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2016 is one of my favorite experiences. It brought together some of the most beautiful believers from near and far.
I have no words to describe how profoundly spiritual and magical this experience was for me.
I remember brother rasul sharing some powerful words from his father the most Honourable Elijah muhammad.
He said that we were born on a colour, a number and musical note, and when we find those 3 things we would be able to heal ourselves.
This trip literally changed the trajectory of my life leading me into a crystal healing modality that I now practice.
Brother Rasul was and is the embodiment of Love, he taught us to walk in Love! he touched so many hearts. He didn’t talk the talk he walked it.
I send my deepest condolences to his beautiful wife, sister Sabrina, his children, siblings and extended family. May Allah strengthen you all during this difficult time.
May Allah be pleased with his servant, a beautiful soul. An Angel of light💔

I’m very fortunate and blessed to have known Uncle Rasul while he was here among us and I’m sad that he’s no longer with us because he truly felt like the uncle I never had. Throughout my life I’ve never been very close to any of my uncles but his loving energy just radiated uncle vibes to me and I loved that. Me and my family have known him for a long time and he’s always treated me and my family with genuine compassion and love and everyone felt it immensely. I grew up in the South Florida mosque and saw him frequently there and I got the privilege to soak in his beautiful heartwarming energy consistently. He always encouraged me to express myself and use my voice so I can let my inner beauty shine. He talked and spread his support for me while letting it be known that I’m special and unique and that spoke volumes to me. He’s family to many people and he’s influenced many people to be the best versions of themselves by putting love and southern hospitality into the hearts of everyone he talked and shook hands with.
He has been known to perform music and sing on multiple occasions and his passion for his art and musical expression was amazing and inspiring to see because I had a passion for music as well. I got the pleasure of seeing him perform live years ago and he floored me with his amazing talent. Sadly he started to lose his vision as he aged but that never stopped him from expressing his love and compassion for the people he loved and that tells you very clearly of his character and beauty.
He’s very loving, grateful, down to earth, kind and genuine and whether I knew it or not I was being influenced by his soul and the memories we’ve had with him will stay with us until it’s our time to leave this planet. Uncle Rasul will be extremely missed by me and the family and I hope that he’s in paradise finding peace and playing his music forever. My heart is with his family during this difficult time and I hope everyone lives an amazing, fulfilling and peaceful life while we’re living cause that’s what he would want for us. He’s a one of a kind man and there will never be another man like him.
Rest in power Uncle Rasul.

As Salaam Alaikum,
Brother Rasul was my first introduction to Islam. I attended Martin Luther King high school in Detroit. My Chemistry teacher arranged a special presentation for her students. Little did we know that it would be Brother Rasul and a delegation from the Nation of Islam.
That experience stuck with me. The way they presented themselves, so well dressed and well spoken. I had never seen anything like it. I can truly say that day changed my life. I knew that there was something more, something better for me in this life.
I want to thank you Brother Rasul for showing me what and who we are on that day in Detroit. The seed you planted stuck with me.
May Allah be forever pleased with you.

Dear Rasul, how sad it is to know you are not here any more, of course I remember you always with that beautiful smile, when we were young we went to a disco club and it was a time when disco’s closed at 1 or 2 in the morning, so the music stoped, the lights went on and they were trying to make us leave, but you decided to start singing and everybody started making the corus of that song, jajaja, the owner of the club asked us nicely to go or authorities will come, so we decided to go to your house to tell jokes and drink milk and oreos till 6 am, we saw the morning sun and of course my mom was angry and never bealive we were having fun at your house just doing that, I would like to send a hug to your beautiful girls, oh Rasul, you will be missed!

Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Raheem,
We Thank Allah who came to us in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad for this special Brother Rasul Hakim Muhammad that taught us that the word special did not mean something good or easy going, but it means that you will come through something and come out like gold. I thank him for giving us an opportunity to use, develop, and sharpen our skills in the Mighty 7th Region of the Great Nation of Islam as his Regional Captain for nearly 7 years. He told me that he was going to test me like I had never been tested before, and I bear witness!
Godship Training!!! There are far too many special moments and life lessons learned to share at this time, but Allah willing they are forthcoming. He is our brother, friend, and most of all, a special soldier in the Kingdom of Allah and will remain in our family's hearts and minds forever
Your brother, former Student Regional Captain Al and your Sister Farah Muhammad

In the name of Allah the Beneficent, the Merciful. I thank Allah for allowing my Mom and I the pleasure and honor to meet Brother Rasul. He visited Monroe Studygroup and presented a beautiful concert and after he found out that I had to leave early he called me and sung " You Are So Beautiful" He brought tears to my eyes and joy to my heart.❤️ He took a photo with my mom and thank for helping to establish the cause of Islam in Monroe Louisiana. Here's a photo of a beautiful moment they shared as I sat there loving every moment. He was very loving, kind , hilarious and full of extraordinary wisdom. May Allah be pleased. Here's the poem that I recited and wrote for him live and in person. ❤️ My Brother Rasul Muhammad
'The Beauty of Love'
The beauty of love and wisdom that Allah created
In The Honorable Elijah Muhammad and in you my brother
Fits perfectly with the patience and strength of our
Beloved Sister Tynetta Our Queen Mother
The Beauty Of Love
Is what draws us to want to hear your lovely voice
Because I've never heard you compromise your sincerity,
About Allah's love, there's just no other choice
We all must look within each of our hearts and souls
And allow Allah to guide us in our Godly ways and roles
The Beauty Of Love
Is when I heard you sing 'Get Here' at Mosque Maryam
Around the time of the 20th anniversary of The Million Man March
And you shared some of your trials
you reminded us to always remain grateful
Because Allah-God is always in charge!
The Beauty of Love
I prayed to Allah that I would one day get to meet you and
Allah has answered my prayers my dreams came true!
Because you my dear dear brother
Has a pure love for humanity like no other!
The Beauty Of Love

Allah's blessings and I love you!

Bro. Rasul was family....my brother from another mother, my children's Uncle Rara, and Godfather to many. He was always reminding us how special and unique we were. He would say"There is only one you in existence, and there will never be another.." He loved us and there was nothing we could do about it.He always advocated for love and compassion. He never pretended to be perfect, and reminded us not to judge. He loved to share stories, and laughs, and spent as much time as he could enjoying time with The Believers. We bowled, went to movies, went out to eat, shared our homes, and made many happy memories. I'm grateful that Allah blessed me and my family to know Bro. Rasul in our lifetime. He is loved. He is missed, and will always be remembered.Condolences to the family. May Allah bless you with peace

I remember Bro Rasul having such a great spirit. I met him when I was a child since my family was still living in Florida at the time. He was close with my mom, so naturally I got to know him too.
I remember him being very sweet and laidback. Always having a smile on his face. Everytime I went to Saviors Day, he was always one of the people I looked forward to seeing. I didnt want to live without at least giving him the geatings. No matter how many years passed, no matter how old I got, he never forgot about me and was happy to speak to me and give advice.
I also remember him being a very talented musician. His passion and dedication to his craft was very inspiring. It was truly a privilege to experience his performances.
While I am very sad about his passing, I am happy that I could even know someone so amazing. I will always remember and hold on to his memory till the day I die.
Rest In Peace, Uncle Rasul

Rasul was and is my brother from another mother. I am thankful to Almighty God Allah for gracing us with this beautiful life and allowing our paths to cross in such a consequential way. I send my deepest condolences to his wife, daughters, siblings and extended family -- may Allah keep you all in His Great Love and Care.
No matter how much suffering he endured, he never let it weigh him down. Always uplifting, never complaining—I mean, I never heard a blind person joke about his blindness in a way that made you laugh. I know he was in pain but he handled his suffering in a way that said, "God, Thy Will be done."
I think back to the early days, during the Rebuilding period when Mother Tynetta and her family would travel to Phoenix with her children, and I remember them rolling into town in that Cadillac. I wondered, now how did they (Brothers Rasul & Ishmael) get to drive at their age—LOL! They lived with us for a time, and oh, I have so many priceless memories.
When I learned of his transition, I felt like the wind passed through me and it set off a reel in my mind of memories playing; late-night study groups, the deep conversations, trips to the zoo in the hot Phoenix summer, sitting on those hard green chairs at the Mosque (#32), going to the Grand Canyon, playing Uno games, living at the Green House. I can still hear him calling me “big head,” even though I always reminded him that his was bigger, and I kid you not, Rasul could read minds. I see him at the piano, raucously singing and playing Elton John’s "Benny & The Jets" or singing "Everything Must Change" with a passion that made us want to sing along even if we couldn’t;-) Music was his gift and wherever he was, people almost always stopped and listened….
In one of our last conversations, he expressed how much he valued the time he spent in Phoenix in the 80s with my father Bro. Jabril—the lessons learned, the wisdom gained, and how those moments helped shape him for the Ministry when he was appointed in Detroit, MI (a Mosque that he had rockin’ & rollin’ by the grace of Allah!). That’s the “Big Rah” Brother Rasul I know—always learning, always growing, always grateful for every person in his life. He had a way of making each and every person in his life feel like you were exclusively special and I believe we were indeed genuinely special to him.
Rasul was a national treasure who embodied love but was fierce, who was keenly observant and blessed with an exquisite insight. He was a brother, a friend, a man of faith, a counselor, definitely a comedian, and a multi-talented artist. We partnered on several workshops about marriage and family because he felt strongly about family and often expressed love for his family and how much he loved on his daughters.
He was an incredible Student-Minister and loved contributing and serving under the leadership of the Honorable Min. Louis Farrakhan. He was also a unique kind of (unofficial) captain who saved and impacted many lives. Although none of us are flawless, I am certain the Almighty looked the other way at his.
Sometimes when Allah calls His own home-- in the Timing that He does-- it is because their life held something extraordinary—a life meant to be examined, a story to be told, remembered, and perhaps emulated in some way. I believe, such was Rasul.
I shall love my big Brother Rasul Hakim Muhammad all the days of my life— and as he often said to me (& others): "and there ‘ain’t nothing you can do about it.”

As Salaam Alaikum
I have just been quietly reflecting and trying to process everything.
I went all the way back to my childhood. I grew up in South Florida as an only child and I used to pray for a Sister and a Brother each night when I went to bed.
I didn’t know that my Prayers would be answered 20 years later with Bro Rasul.
I left home and went up North, I found Islam and registered at the DC Mosque, #4, then later decided to go back home.
When I got back, Bro Rasul was just installed as The Regional Minister in Miami, Florida.
We instantly clicked and he began calling me his little Sister. He said that he always wanted a little Sister and I always wanted a “Big Brother.” Prayers Answered.
I had the Honor of being Bro Rasul’s Admin. Assistant and working with Mother Tynetta on some occasions. It was truly a Blessing to work with them both.
Bro Rasul is the epitome of the word “Brother “ he was willing to sacrifice himself for others.
He worked himself to exhaustion, taking case after case, counseling session after counseling session, trying to help The Believers solve their problems.
Leaving The Mosque late at night and having to pull over on the side of the road to take a nap.😴 in order to get back home safely. He was that kind of Brother.
He performed my wedding and didn’t ask for a cent. He was that kind of Brother.
I wish he could have gotten all these wonderful flowers 🌹🌹 while he was among us.
I will miss him, but will forever keep him close to my heart and in my memories. He is apart of me and my children forever.
I love you,
Your “Little Sister”

Condolences for Our Dear Brother Rasul Hakim
To the Family of Brother Rasul Hakim,
I extend my deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers to you during this time of transition. Our beloved Brother Rasul Hakim has returned to Allah, and we pray that Allah be pleased with him, grant him a place of peace in Paradise (Jannah), and bless his family with patience and strength.
Brother Rasul was a devoted servant, a brother in faith, and a shining example of righteousness, dedication, and love for his people. His life was a testament to the teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and the guidance of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. He worked tirelessly in service to the Nation, and his legacy will remain in our hearts and in the work we continue in his honor.
The Holy Qur’an teaches us:
“Surely we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:156)
While we feel the loss of our dear Brother Rasul in the physical sense, we take comfort in knowing that his good deeds, his works, and his spirit will never perish. May his journey be filled with light, and may his family find peace in knowing that he lived a life of faith, purpose, and dedication to the Cause of Truth.
May Allah strengthen, comfort, and protect his beloved family, and may we all strive to honor his memory through our continued commitment to righteousness and service.

To the family and all who loved Std. Minister Rasul:
My deepest condolences and prayers for Allah's comfort.
Brother Rasul was a friend of the family. He always lightened the mood with his laughter and pranks. One day he called me at work, mimicking The Honorable Louis Farrakhan's voice. He said he was coming over for dinner in a short while, making me think I would have to Leave immediately and prepare. He got me good on that one! There were moments where he played the piano at Wall's restaurant I will always remember him with love. These memories I will treasure..

As Salaam Alaikum Family and Friends of our Brother Rasul Muhammad. I remember seeing and hearing Bro. Rasul speak at Mosque Maryam, but I was blessed one particular afternoon to see him and his wife a few years back at a Jamaican restaurant in Hyde Park. Funny thing is I really didn't need to be there, because their jerk food burned me up so bad the first time I tried it that I had learned my lesson. But Allah spoke to me that day to go anyway (I'm thinking to myself, why am I doing this) and as I am sitting waiting on the food, here comes the sun walking through the door with his lovely wife. It was a beautiful sunny day that afternoon, but when brother entered it seemed to literally look more brighter! I knew that he probably didn't know who I was, but I started to tell him about as a believer with my family back in the day we use to attend the meetings to hear The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan when they were held on 47th Street in Chicago and he laughed and reminisced. But when I mentioned my brother Harun Muhammad whom he knew quite well, then all was good! I'm so glad that I listened to Allah and went to that restaurant that day and ordered that food, (by the way that jerk red snapper whipped me so bad later
that afternoon, but through smiling burning lips it was well worth the trip of the special blessing that I did not know was in store for me by the grace of Allah to see and talk to Brother Rasul, a brother with a shinning personality and warm humor. A day I will never forget by the grace of Allah. All praise belong to Allah and may Allah surely be pleased with him.
Peace and blessings family and friends.

I remember as a young child thinking that he likes us. Us, meaning the children of the Mosque. He would say, “Hey you, come here!” And precede to play paddy cake with me and other children. He had a way of making you feel special and loved. He would even say, “You know your Uncle RaRa loves you?”
I appreciate the love and advice that he gave to me and my husband. Allah blessed him to look into some of the questions that we had and go directly to a deeper and spiritual understanding of the question, and it helped us on our journey in marriage and family.
The pull and love for family in the Nation and growth of the youth is what I learned and continue to carry on from Bro. Rasul.
He said to me one time, “I want to see more from you,” while talking to me directly, and then addressing other concerns to the believers of Mosque #1.
And more is what he gave and continues to give. I thank Allah for the life, spirit, and joy from Bro. Rasul, that Allah blessed him to give. I was too shy growing up to say that I loved him back. I love you too Uncle RaRa, and with Allah’s help, will do more.
May Allah bless and hold his family and all those that loved him.
Thank you for this chance in allowing us to express our love for him.

I lived in Miami when Stu. Min. Bro. Rasul was the still the minister in 2009. We attended a multicultural hip-hop event and just watching him deliver his message to the attendees was impactful as it embodied love, understanding, compassion, and his realness allowed him to connect on a much deeper level. I can say in being around Bro. Rasul on several occasions he always showered everyone with LOVE, especially the youth!!!

As Salaam Alaikum! Ramadan Murbarak! My deepest condolences to the Muhammad family for the lost of our dear Student Minister Rasul Muhammad. I first meet our dear Brother when he was appointed the Student Minister of the 7th Region in Miami, Florida, Muhammad's Mosque No. 29. When he first arrived in Miami, my brother Elijah Mustafa (May Allah be pleased with him) escorted him around Miami and helped with the maintenance and electrical work that was needed on the new building that the believers along with Student Minister Rasul was able to obtain. Student Minister Rasul counseled my family when we were going through some family problems and he also performed my Sister Fatima Mustafa Muhammad wedding ceremony to her husband Bro. Desmond Muhammad. My dear mother, Nasheed Mustafa (may Allah be pleased with her) who departed in December of 2019, wrote and dedicated a poem to Student Minister. Rasul Muhammad while he was the Student Minister in Miami Titled "Rasul" which was published in book in 2020 by myself and my sister, Kareemah Mustafa which also included other poems and spoken word that was written by my mother. I have attached the poem below.

As Salaam Alaikum! Ramadan Murbarak! Dear Beloved Family, it is with a heavy heart that I extend my deepest condolences on the passing of Brother Minister Rasul. May Allah be pleased with him. His presence in our lives was more than just that of a Minister—he was like a brother to us, a dear friend, a mentor, and an uncle to our children. The times we shared together—dining, laughing, and growing in faith—are memories that will always be cherished. We would have such deep conversations and thought provoking ideas that lead to community- based activities.
His ministry of love was not just something he preached, but something he lived. He touched so many lives in Detroit, and his legacy remains, not only in the work he did but in the love he gave so freely. His wisdom, kindness, and unwavering spirit will continue to inspire us.
During this time of sorrow, my family and I are praying for his entire family. May Allah (God) grant Brother Minister Rasul peace and paradise, and may He comfort all of us who mourn such a profound loss.
With love and prayers,
Sis. Captain Missey Muhammad - Detroit

ASA Dear Family…it’s taken me a few days to clear my mind to speak about the great loss to My Family and Our Nation with the passing of Brother Rasul…this has been very difficult for me because his loss to Our Family is not a “May Allah be pleased…” moment… it has been difficult for my children as well as they didn’t lose Minister Rasul, they loss “Uncle Ra Ra”… they literally grew up in front of his eyes, through the many dinners at our home, playing, joking, receiving sage advice and guidance…watching him for through his trials as we went through our own…the hearty laugh of Uncle Ra Ra held a special place in their hearts as well as Missey’s and mine…I lost a Teacher, Mentor, Brother and Friend…and I lost a confidante, someone I could talk to about anything…We did THE WORK together, We laughed together and We cried together….Rasul taught me so much, there is no way I could mention all I learned from him…Rasul was the keynote speaker at My first “Father’s Day for The Blackman” program, Rasul and I went and taught in the schools of Detroit together…We taught in Michigan Department of Corrections together, We taught in the Community together, We went among the Arab Muslim community together, We even went among Our Enemies together…side note: We were once at an event that had potential to become aggressive and I was securing Rasul and he said, “Big Vic, if something jumps off, don’t you extract me, I want to fight with My People…” I said, “Yes Sir..” Rasul said, “ I mean it …” I said, “Yes Sir..” He said, “Big Vic you’re going to extract me aren’t you?” I again said, “Yes Sir!!!” and we both fell out laughing!!! But anyone who knew Rasul knew he didn’t mind a good fight!!! Rasul was bigger than life, before He came to Detroit on his second tour of duty , I would see him at Saviours’ Day and Holy Day of Atonement or any Nation event and he was always surrounded by The Believers, laughing, smiling and taking pictures, The Believers loved Rasul…not because he was The Son of The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad but because he was Rasul…I’ve felt empty since hearing confirmation of his passing…similar to when Minister Ava returned to Allah as both of them were close with My Family…and were instrumental in my personal development in The Ministry…As hard as we worked, Rasul played hard too, evident by his love for going to the movies… one day Rasul and I snuck off to go to some movie he just had to see and we ended up spending the entire day in the theatre as once the movie ended we walked into another room and watched another movie and another movie until late in the evening…and many times the movies watched Rasul as he would fall asleep, I would let him sleep because he worked so hard… but I think his music was his “true love…” As strong and deep a Minister he was equally as deep a lyricist and composer… in his music was The Teachings, His Love for His Father, Mother, Family…his love for Our People, in America and abroad… he felt and expressed their pain in his composing and singing… He was so proud to produce and perform his album and also performing with Grammy award winning artist Kem here in Detroit… I remember the time Rasul invited Our Mexican Brothers and Sisters to the Mosque and did his own translating from English to Spanish during the entire lecture, We applauded and bore witness in English and Our Guests bore witness in Spanish it was an amazing sight to see!!! I saw The Universal Power of The Teachings in that despite not understanding Spanish I felt the vibratory frequency when He said The Word of God in Spanish and was able to see the reaction in Our Brothers and Sisters…Rasul was an amazing Human Being!!!
I could go on and on about My Brother & Friend but time and space would not be able to hold it…Oh I almost forgot the time when Rasul and I planned The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan’s visit to Kwame Kilpatrick at Wayne County jail… it was so well planned the media at large had no idea it occurred until after The Apostle and His motorcade had left!!! Also when we planned with Captain Emeritus Majied securing the former Mayor’s release from Wayne County jail which was a huge media affair that We executed with perfection before literally the world!!! I could never replace these and many more memories that I’m reflecting on Rasul…it’s very hard to grasp that He’s gone…I could always make him laugh with this imitation I would do for him… can’t tell you what it was ( not made for Television)…that is Our secret!!! Brother Rasul would tell story after story about The Exalted Christ, The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and pass wisdom from The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan that is not written in any book or recorded on any lecture that gave us insight to growing up with The Christ and His Apostle, I Am Forever Grateful and Thankful to Allah, Master Fard Muhammad for allowing my family and I the opportunity to meet and grow with Our Brother Rasul…I Will Miss You Brother, more than tears could ever explain or count…but I know I am a better Man, Husband, Father, Muslim, Minister and Brother because I met Rasul Hakim Muhammad…May Allah, Master Fard Muhammad grant His blessings and mercy during this time of trial and bereavement upon His wife, children, Brothers, Sisters and The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and the entire Nation of Islam!!! Brother Rasul, Original Salute!!!🫡 Take You Leave Soldier!!!
Your Brother and Servant…

Not only did I sit under his leadership in Miami, Florida, for a few years, but I also had the honor of working with our Beloved Brother Student Minister Rasul on The Fajr Prayerline, where as a main host, I scheduled him to join us regularly on Wednesday mornings, weekly; then assisted him in the launch of what would eventually become his “Ministry of Love” tours.
Behind the scenes for several years, I continued to assist in facilitating the recording, set up and other broadcasting features to enhance this memorable and beautiful venture.
On this line we were honored to feature interviews with his Beloved mother, Mother Tynnetta Muhammad, May Allah be Pleased with her, in what would be her final interviews before her transitioning a few months later.
We also hosted our beloved Dr. Student Minister Ava Muhammad, May Allah be Pleased with her, and many others.
This wasn't only a memorable experience, but it was also a unique learning environment, giving me an opportunity to directly hear the Teachings of his father, The Most Honourable Elijah Muhammad, through his own colorful insights.
The last time i spoke to him and his wife, we had a tremendously warm laugh and exchange. What remains of it will remain indelibly on my mind...
Although he isn't physically present, I'm most certainly sure that he lives. May Allah Bless his memory, his service, his unique perspective, and above all, his love, to never die.
My deepest condolences are extended to his beautiful wife, his entire family and all who were touched by him….He lives….

When I sit and reflect on what little time I shared with brother Rasul, I think of 3 parts to my testimony. One I recall brother Rasul sharing with us on a conference call, how He was saying to the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, He was asking Allah God why Me? In reference to his health condition, why me? I remember him saying the response from the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan was along the lines of, son sometimes Allah takes us all the way down, before He brings us all the way up.
That shed light on many of our questions to Allah God and why he permits sometimes for us to undergo intense pain and suffering in our lives and our thoughts of why us, what did we do to deserve such trial.
Second, I found myself reaching out to brother Rasul for guidance and counseling. He would pick up the phone and ask who I was, I would remind him and He would just counsel me. I was grateful for his insight. His willingness to give guidance from his life experience and also from the teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. As an artist myself, He reminded me of words the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan gave to him regarding his gifts, give it back to Allah.
Finally, I was on a call receiving some guidance, and I mentioned my father who introduced us to Islam when we were younger. My dad being from the island of Trinidad and Tabago, we began to talk on my grand mother living in Miami, my father being in Florida many times as I came up. He wanted to know who my father was, I explained he was known in the ranks for being a great Tailor of the FOI uniform years ago in Los Angeles, and his Trinidad Heritage. Brother Rasul said to me, I think I know your father. When he thought about the word tailor, He lit up, and was shocked and said to me, brother I know your father. He made suits for me, when I was about 300 pounds in Miami. He was elated and thought it was indeed a small world, here He is giving guidance to the son of a brother who aided him in his dress personally while Ministering in Florida.
I reflect that I didn’t spend much time being around brother Rasul Muhammad personally or physically, but I did. I put my father on the phone and they had brief words of gratitude for one another. I was grateful we all had that connection.
May Allah bless his children to take the work of their father and expand on it and make it bigger and greater over the next 50 years inshallah!
As-Salaam Alaikum

Brother Rasul we who knew you were blessed. I remember his visit to Philadelphia at the home of the late Brother William Hart lead singer of the Legendary Delfonics I was blessed to prepare the meal for him and received very good reviews. He played piano and sang. He would always share the teachings of The Honorable Elijah Muhammad and his gratitude for Minister Louis Farrakhan.

I’m grateful for the memories we shared,
Like the hot Phoenix suns, summer after summer, When my father (🙏🏾) would take all of us to the zoo as something to do.
South Mountain Park, All Bran cereal with the raisins (inside joke)—
…Simple,
Notes lingering, filling the air,
They meant the world.
We played endless rounds of Monopoly and Uno,
The rhythm of our laughter, a melody in the background,
ASU’s piano rooms,
The green house echoes, Deep conversations, Stretching through the years like a quiet refrain.
Rasul’s passing leaves a hole, A silence too heavy to measure, But the time we shared,
That’s a treasure, a chord I’ll always hold.
Grateful for the moments, Grateful for the bond,
A song that will never fade. 🕊️🕊️🕊️

May Almighty Allah be pleased with our beautiful Bro. Rasul. I remember when he helped me talk my oldest son out of going into the US service along with Bro. Wazir, back in the early 80's. I am forever grateful. It was always wonderful to see him at the L.A. Mosque# 27. We knew we were in for something special when he would visit us. I thank Allah for Bro. Rasul for his beautiful spirit and presence.

The fondest memory I have of our beloved brother was when I was on stage at the Million Man March securing our leader with Captain Alfred from Richmond, Bro Rasul had to go to the bathroom so I escorted him up to the capital. Crazy thing was I said to him he may have saved my bladder from busting because I had been holding it since around 7am! He laughed with that big beautiful smile and I’ll never forget that interaction with him. May Allah be pleased with our beloved brother and friend 🤲🏾✨
