Forever in our thoughts, always in our hearts.

Obituary

Raphael Curtis Reynolds, a true embodiment of an unyielding spirit and a life lived boldly, left this world on July 6, 2025, at the age of 68 in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, Raphael carved his own path—a path defined by pride, protection, and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones.

Raphael defined himself by his authentic spirit and cool demeanor. His sarcastic humor and smirky smile became trademarks of a man who never shied away from living life on his terms. Stubborn at times, perhaps, but always genuine, he made no apologies for leading with his heart and voice.

Despite taking life's hard and rugged paths, it was Raphael’s fierce devotion to his family that was the cornerstone of his existence. He cherished his children with unmatched fervor and always wanted to be there to protect and support them. His legacy lives on through his beloved children: Monique Reynolds, his oldest daughter; Martinez, his eldest son; and his two younger sons, Kamuela and Makoa Reynolds. Raphael was also a proud grandfather to Terique Owens and Morgan Skinner, whom he adored with the same boundless love.

Raphael leaves behind his two sisters, Vera and Velma Reynolds, his brother Art Reynolds, and a host of nieces and nephews who will forever remember his rebellious charm and compassionate heart.

In departing, he joins his cherished parents, Virgina Sharpback and Clarence Reynolds, his beloved brother Clarence Reynolds, and niece in eternal peace.

Raphael Curtis Reynolds was a man who never liked being told how to live his life, and in every sense, he lived it fearlessly, and with love. As we remember him, we honor the legacy of a genuine soul—one who cared fiercely, loved deeply, and left a mark on all who knew him. May his spirit find eternal peace and his memory continue in the hearts of those who truly loved him.

A Prayer for Ray

O Gracious and Eternal Spirit,
In this solemn moment, we gather to honor the memory of Raphael Reynolds a father, son, brother, uncle and grandfather whose presence graced our lives and whose love remains etched in our hearts. We come before You, humbled and grateful, acknowledging the countless blessings You have bestowed upon us through his life. We thank You for the laughter he brought, the lessons he imparted, and the unwavering courage he offered. May his legacy of kindness and strength continue to inspire us each day.

As we reflect on the cherished memories we hold of him, we seek Your comfort and solace during this time of mourning. Father, we acknowledge the pain of his passing, the void that his absence has left in our lives, and we ask for Your gentle embrace to surround us. Help us to navigate through our grief with grace, and remind us that love transcends even the harshest boundaries of life and death.

We come before You, O Divine Source, with a humble heart, asking for the gift of peace for my father’s soul. May he find eternal rest in Your loving arms, free from the struggles of this earthly existence. We trust in Your boundless mercy and grace, believing that he is now surrounded by Your light, where pain and sorrow are no more. May he be welcomed into a realm of everlasting joy and tranquility, embraced by those who have gone before, reunited in love.

In our moments of sorrow, grant us the strength to carry his memory forward. Help us to find solace in the love he shared and the values he instilled. May his spirit guide us as we honor his legacy through our actions and choices. Let us remember him not just with tears of grief, but with smiles that reflect the joy he did bring to our lives.

As we celebrate his life, may we also find hope and encouragement in one another, drawing strength from the bonds of family and friendship. Let this time of remembrance unite us in love, reminding us that while we may be separated by time and space, our hearts remain connected, bound by the love he cultivated among us.

May we also take comfort in the promise of Your eternal presence, trusting that You walk with us through our darkest days and brightest moments. We place our faith in You, for we know that You are a source of hope, a beacon of light in our sorrow. In our grief, let us find the assurance that love never dies; it transforms, it grows, and it endures.

O Spirit of Comfort, we entrust our beloved Ray my father to Your care. May You shine Your light upon him, envelop him in Your peace, and keep him forever safe in Your embrace. We ask for this with heartfelt faith and unwavering trust, knowing that he is at rest, and that we too will find peace in the memories we hold dear.

Amen.

Raphael Curtis Reynolds was a loved and protective family member, especially towards his beautiful daughter Monique, who is my niece.

He often spoke highly of his family, especially his parents, including siblings Vera, Velma, and Art Reynolds.

He shared a special bond with us and was remembered for his sweet smile, neat appearance, and love for Monique.

The bond he had with my sister Charleen and his daughter Monique was beautiful. They both doted over Monique, and she is a beautiful portrayal of them both.

The Fenceroy family mourns his passing and sends our love and prayers to all of his children, family, and loved ones.

My heart was heavy when I heard of your passing. I know we haven't seen each other in awhile. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I remember when you was back for Grandma Sharpbacks funeral. You had a sense of humor in your own way. A couple laughs and stories I remember. It was a good time to reconnect with everyone. I believe your up there talking away with Grandma and Grandpa and also your brother/My Dad. Say hello to my Mom and Dad up there and Grandma and Grandpa. You'll be forever missed and thought of Uncle Ray. Luv ya

Hello everyone thank you for sending your condolences and prayers during this difficult time. My father unexpectedly passed away in late June due to arteriosclerosis cardiovascular disease. At the time he was living in Los Angeles for almost 30+years. Most of my fondest memories of my father were during my childhood. I looked up to him as my protector and a man of strength who loved me immensely and would do anything to protect me. I will always remember his words, presence and smile. Yes he wasn’t perfect by any means he was a rebellious soul navigating this world. But one thing I always knew that he loved me and his children. Now he is at peace, no more pain.
