The Centenary of a Healer 💙
A century marks the time since he began,
Our Doctor Gajaraj Uncle, a compassionate man.
Though earthly time has called his service done,
The good he gave lives on, in everyone.
He walked among us, with a gentle grace,
A comforting look upon his thoughtful face.
His hands brought healing, and his words brought calm,
A selfless servant, a protective balm.
He mended bodies, but he touched the soul,
He made the broken spirit bright and whole.
He gave us years of laughter, wisdom, light,
And chased away the fear within the night.
We cannot hold him, but the memories stay,
Clear as the dawn of a new-breaking day.
The stories shared, the lives he helped to mend,
A boundless legacy that has no end.
Today, we celebrate one hundred years,
Not with sad tears, but triumph over fears.
For in our hearts, his light will always shine,
A perfect blend of human and divine.
So raise a glass, let gentle voices ring,
To the good Doctor, the healing he would bring.
His work on Earth is done, his duty met,
Our dear Uncle, we will never forget.

Prof. Arcot Gajaraj, we call him Uncle. He was my inspiration in many ways - his dressing style, discipline, keeping up time and not to compromise for 2nd best.
Once, I asked him, about his retirement in his 70’s as I thought he had good financial position. However, he said what he will do for buva(food). That day he gave me a strong message, that people like me should work 24/7.
In spite of his busy schedules he was always there for family and in my first meeting with him, he welcomed me so nicely in front of doctors in Apollo, taught me inclusiveness and motivated me.
Just not me, our entire family is so proud to associate with Uncle, Auntie and Akka.

Prof. Arcot Gajaraj was an excellent clinical Radiologist and a gentleman. He was perfect in his work in the department and expected all his staff/colleagues around him to be same. There was to be no compromise in work. He led by example. He stood by his staff in all troubles. He was a voracious reader and when new modalities or techniques in ultrasound, CT, Nuclear Medicine or MRI were introduced, he learnt them thoroughly to teach others.
