Everyone sees what you appear to be, few experience what you really are.

Obituary

With profound sorrow, yet with gratitude for a life of purpose, honour and service, the Egbadon Family announces the passing of our beloved patriarch, Hon. Prince Andrew Iluekhaebho Egbadon, Esq.

A man of distinction, dignity and admirable character, he lived a life that touched many spheres and, more importantly, many lives. His was a life defined not merely by public office or professional accomplishments, but by the relationships he built, the values he upheld and the generosity of spirit with which he embraced those around him.

In public life, he was a respected administrator and statesman, having served as the First Executive Chairman of Esan North East Local Government Area, Uromi, warmly remembered as the Prince of Hope. He was also an active participant in several progressive associations and endeavours, maintaining enduring relationships across political, professional and community circles. His commitment to public affairs and the advancement of society remained an important part of his life's journey.

Beyond his public engagements, he was a man whose place in the hearts of his family and associates was immeasurable. He was a devoted and exemplary son to his father, a cherished brother to his siblings, a steadfast and committed husband to his beloved wife and to his children, he was a father. A father in the truest sense of the word to many, extending his care, guidance and affection far beyond the boundaries of his immediate family and to many others, he was a source of counsel, encouragement, friendship and support.

His departure leaves a profound void in the lives of those who knew him, loved him and shared in his journey. Yet, we take comfort in the richness of the life he lived, the bonds he forged and the memories that will remain with us.

As we mourn this great loss, the family extends its appreciation to friends, associates, colleagues, members of the various progressive associations and all well-wishers who shared in his life's journey. We ask for your prayers, understanding and support during this period of grief.

Details of funeral arrangements and other commemorative activities will be communicated in due course.

He lived with dignity, served with distinction and loved generously. His memory shall remain a blessing to all whose lives he touched.

May his soul rest in perfect peace.

*TRIBUTE TO MY FRIEND AND BROTHER, HON. ANDY EGBADON, ESQ.*

Your death is devastating and shocking. I am still struggling to come to terms with it.

I met Andy in 1972 at Annunciation Catholic College, Irrua, Edo State (then Midwest State), as two 12-year-old boys just starting secondary school. From that very first meeting, a friendship was forged that has lasted over five decades.

When I moved to the USA, distance could not break our bond. We continued as brothers. Together with three other lads, we formed a group we proudly called _The Supremes_. That small circle of five has grown to nine over the years, and to this day, we remain tightly knit. Our wives also became close friends, turning our friendship into a true family bond.

Though we attended different universities, we were always visiting each other and keeping in constant touch. Whenever I came home on vacation from the US, Andy was my main contact, my anchor, my brother on ground.

Andy was a true friend in every sense of the word. He would tell you the truth, even when it was difficult, and he would defend you no matter what. If my family travelled home to Nigeria without me, I had complete peace of mind knowing Andy would be there to guide and support them. I know he trusted I would do the same for him.

When he told me he was sick in May, I told him with all conviction that we would beat it together. But God knows best.

Andy, I will miss you immensely. Your loyalty, your honesty, your brotherhood, and your laughter will live with me forever.

May your soul rest with the Lord. Amen.

*Rest in perfect peace, my brother.*

*TRIBUTE TO A GREAT LEADER AND DEAR FRIEND*
*BARRISTER ANDY EGBADON*

It is with a heavy heart and total submission to the will of God that I mourn the passing of my dear friend, brother and leader, *Barrister Andy Egbadon*, former Chairman of Esan North-East Local Government Council.

Andy was a distinguished son of Uromi, a brilliant legal mind, and a public servant who served our people with honour and integrity.

I remember him most fondly during his time as *Commissioner, Edo State Local Government Service Commission*, while I had the privilege to serve as the *State President of NULGE (Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees), Edo State.*

Those were defining years. Barrister Egbadon was a listening Commissioner. He was a father to workers. He understood the language of labour and the dignity of the worker. Together, we worked to improve workers' welfare across Edo State, and I can say without fear of contradiction that he contributed immensely to the success we recorded during my tenure.

He was fair, firm, and full of wisdom. He never used his office to oppress, but to uplift. He respected the union, he respected the workers, and he respected the rule of law he was trained to defend.

Esan North-East has lost a great former Chairman.
Edo State Local Government Service has lost a noble Commissioner.
NULGE family in Edo State has lost a true friend of workers.
I have lost a brother and confidant.

On behalf of myself, my family, and the entire NULGE family in Edo State, I extend my deepest condolences to his immediate family, the good people of Uromi, and the Esan nation.

May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace, and may God grant his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

*Adieu, Barrister Andy Egbadon. Your legacy of service and kindness will never be forgotten.*

A TRIBUTE TO MY FRIEND, MY BROTHER AND MY CLASSMATE OF 54 YEARS — LATE ANDY EGBADON
Andy was my friend, my brother, my classmate and my confidant for 54 remarkable years.
We met in 1972 as young secondary schoolboys in short knickers, carrying our books, sharing dreams and looking forward to a future we could hardly imagine. Little did we know that the friendship that began in that classroom would last a lifetime.
For 54 years, we shared the journey of life. We grew from boys into men, built families, pursued our dreams, faced life's challenges and celebrated its blessings. Through all these years, Andy remained a true friend and brother.
If I were asked to describe Andy in three words, I would say: Loyal, Truthful and Joyful.
He was loyal and dependable, a man whose friendship was genuine. He was truthful and principled, never afraid to speak his mind or stand by what he believed was right. He was also joyful, with a wonderful sense of humour and a laughter that could brighten any gathering.
I will always cherish our memories, from our schooldays to the many conversations, laughter and experiences we shared as adults. We advised one another, encouraged one another and stood together through the different seasons of life.
The Bible says in Proverbs 18:24, "There is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother." Andy was that friend to me.
Today, I mourn the loss of a brother whose friendship began when we were boys and remained precious until the end. Our Class of '72 has lost a dear member, his family has lost a loving husband and father, and I have lost a friend of 54 years.
To his dear wife, children and the entire Egbadon family, I extend my heartfelt condolences. May God Almighty comfort and strengthen you. Andy has left behind a good name, a loving family and beautiful memories that time cannot erase.
My dear Andy, I wish we had more time. I wish we could sit together again, share our usual banter, laugh about our schooldays and reminisce about the good old days.
Thank you for 54 years of friendship, loyalty, laughter and brotherhood. I will miss you, my friend. I will miss knowing that somewhere in this world, my friend of so many years was still there.
You have fought a good fight, you have finished your course, and you have kept the faith.
Rest well, my brother. Rest well, my friend. Until we meet again on that glorious resurrection morning.
