I have fought a good fight,
I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:7,8
Obituary
Phillip James McGlaughlin finished his race on December 30th, 2025, at 92 yrs of age, and entered his heavenly home, joyously welcomed by Jesus and countless others he loved and led to his beloved Savior.
For more than six decades, he served God with unshakable passion—traveling as a full‑time evangelist, broadcasting the gospel over the airwaves, ministering through music, and shepherding churches with a pastor’s heart.
Phil believed that following Christ was the greatest adventure a person could ever know—and he lived that belief with every breath. His love for God naturally overflowed into a deep reverence for God’s creation. The wilderness was his sanctuary. Whether trekking through forests, climbing into mountain basins, or wading into cold rivers with a fishing rod in hand, Phil delighted in the handiwork of his Creator. He relished the thrill of the hunt, the quiet patience of fishing, and the joy of exploring new places. Danger never deterred him; if anything, it stirred his sense of purpose. He embraced the rugged, the remote, and the unpredictable with a grin and a prayer.
At home, Phil poured the same passion into his family. He was always teaching—always turning ordinary moments into something fun, memorable, and full of laughter for his family. His friends remember his unwavering positivity and quick humor; he had a gift for lifting spirits and making people feel at ease.
At age 48, Phil followed God’s call to northern British Columbia, Canada—a land as wild and untamed as his own adventurous spirit. There, he and his family ministered to trappers, guides, miners, Indigenous communities, and others living far from the conveniences of modern life. He thrived in the remote stretches of the North, where ministry often required equal parts Scripture, stamina, and sheer determination.
His calling later carried him across the world to northern India, where he ministered in villages, orphanages, and leper colonies. He taught students and pastors from India, Burma, and Nepal, and was honored with a Doctor of Divinity from Emmanuel Bible College and Seminary.
Even in his late eighties, Phil was not one to settle down. At 88, he and his faithful wife, Kay, packed their bags once more and moved to a remote mountain region of Montana. Surrounded by the rugged beauty he loved, Phil continued sharing the good news of eternal life in Jesus Christ until his final breath.
He is remembered with love by his wife of nearly 63 years, Dora Kay; their four children—Flint, Linda, Elena, and Kendra; numerous grandchildren; great‑grandchildren; and a legacy of unwavering faith, courage, and joyful adventure.
